Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast (8th April 2006)

LOL, well for the time-being they can steal the promotional Buzz logo from Constellations and put that outside and maybe change the "matt" finish of the black and red paint. Oh, surely they could also hide the supports for the "floating Buzz" a bit more. How ugly are those?!!!

It seems that they have actually been covered up AFTER putting them into place. Poppy seems to say:

The logo doesn't bother me - I prefer the entrance logo to the promotional one. The promotional one is a bit boring really - that extra curve on the actual logo makes a big difference! lol

This really is a weird thing for them to do then, if Poppy's right (and I can't see why he wouldn't be). It does look like they've covered it all up to paint the black area black again... but why?! :x

A post on dlrp.info confirms this with the following pics in this sequence. Also looks like they modified the way Buzz is held up too... (another things I was stroppy about LOL)

Whatever they've done to the supports for Buzz, they do look better. The old ones didn't bother me that much, but these ones look more inconspicuous. The black sections of the entrance might look better if they were a very dark blue colour... :?

It certainly seems that someone wasn't happy with the way it turned out. I can't understand why to be honest, I thought it looked fine! All this wouldn't have anything to do with Jay Rasulo visiting would it? They took those "Sale" banners down in Front Lot... they might destroy the entrance to their new attraction too, you never know! :lol: :?

Thanks for the photos! So they've just repainted the background black then? Weird...

I bet you were a bit confused when you arrived in Discoveryland to find the sign all covered up, after just seeing it online before you went! :lol:

It was painted over black on the 10th, except for one column. The next day, the laser beams were painted on again without the stars.

I'm pretty sure it was just a test, since it didn't look that good. :lol:

It's nice to see that they've got merchandise lined up specifically for Laser Blast - they could have easily just sold all the usual Buzz/Toy Story stuff, so I'm glad to see they're making the effort with some original stuff.

I probably wouldn't buy any of those things, even though the laser gun looks like it might be fun... :lol:

The Little Green Man plush looks a bit distorted - the ones they used to sell at Disney Stores back in 95/96 were the best!

Errr! Ugly machines!! :lol: I guess they're only Fastpass machines though, they don't bother me that much. It is a shame they're having to ruin the look of this attraction so late in the game though...

In the words of Genie, "Is see there was a sale on UGLY!". They really are disgusting, but hey... they aint the ride lol.

Just thinking how nice it could have been if the stars on the black background thing were actually fibre optics twinkling :roll:

:shock: This ride sounds so fantastic! I'm so excited for it!

Is it going to be an actual roller coaster with dips and such, or is it gonna be like the Pinocchio ride where you're just moving along on a flat track?
