Quote from: "Samninetysix"We bought new AP's on Sunday 9th April and the queue was massive!. It was really warm in the sunshine and had to wait ages to get seen (the queue went right onto the road bit where the parade route is) and that was just our queue, the queue for the Francilien passes was also nearly the same size.

It is worth seeing if Donald's Desk is open - it is an AP location outside the park under the DL hotel.  I think its the same side as the baggage storage.  If it is open, the queue is often shorter than inside the park.

How long do you esimate the queue was for? Over an hour?

Also what time in the day was this more or less?

We are in Disneyland Paris again on 9, 10 and 11 April 2011. I can give 10% discount to 1 person. Anybody who needs it here? :)

It was definitely over an hour and it was middle of the afternoon (if you look at the parade times, we came out and had to wait 5 minutes for the parade to start so couldn't even leave the front of the AP bureau) so roughly 90 minutes before the start of the parade.

Anyone know what time the Bureau openign hours are? Basically is it worth trying to get an AP late on a saturday evening in september, or better leaving it to the sunday morning??

last time I checked, the AP office closed each evening at 7pm, regardless of when the park official close time was.

One more question. Am I correct in understanding the following will work:

I'm meeting someone for a day in the parks on the 6th of June. If I get Passports Francilliens that day, we can't go the next two days. That means we'll only have the 9th and 10th to visit the parks before we leave Paris, because of the blockout dates.
So I figure, get single day tickets on the 3rd, spend the day at the park and get them swapped for a Franceillien while only paying the difference between the 2 types of tickets (ie:99 euro for each of us.) Then I have the 6/7/8/9/10 to spend at the parks.

Correct?

could you not just buy your Francillien pass on 3rd at the ticket booths/guest services at the entrance to the park, instead of buying a one-day ticket and then having to exchange it for a Francillien pass later that day?

But yes, your plan would also work.

Hi Elaine

Thanks for your replies

I have booked 5 nights at the Davy Crocket in June... now the first girl I spoke to would not let me book without a dream pass to get the 35% discount and was adamant that i could not book at the discounted price until i held the pass or proof of purchase.

I rang back and booked it with no ticket deal and all the discounts on the basis that I can not check in until I have the pass in my hand so I will have go to the park first then buy myself a dream pass and my wife and 2 kids a fantasy pass each

a. please tell me that the crocket wont charge me more if I turn up with a pass bought the same day I check in

b is a dream and 3 fantasy passes the best way to do this for 5 nights / 6 days ? there are no block out dates for our trip

thanks again

Unfortunately not, since the 3rd is blocked out for the Francillien.

Hi,

(a) They wont charge you extra. Last year I booked with the discount and bought my AP in the parks before I checked into the Santa Fe.. There was no problem at all checking in.

(b) Yes I think this is the cheapest option... A 5 day ticket is £177 Adult and £141 for a child... The Dream AP is €199/£175 and the Fantasy AP is €139/£122. So they do work out as being cheaper, and you get your discounts too :)

I could be wrong but I think it is possible to buy an AP even if it is a blockout day... However I could be wrong but I do think I remember reading this simewhere

hi everyone  :D

am desperately hoping for some help/advice and im hoping you lovely people will have the answers for me!!no pressure lol

i am booked to take my daughter (shes 5) to dlp on the 28th of june for 7 nights and 8 days with my mum.we are booked into the newport bay hotel the three of us sharing one room on the admirals floor and we are flying from glasgow.

i booked a package deal including transport, hotel, transfers and park tickets under the discount deal that dlp had running in january which gave us 30% off the whole package including transport and my daughter will stay and play for free.

my problem is i had no idea about the existence of annual passes  :? i am wondering whether getting an annual dream pass would be a better deal for us.i would hope to take my daughter back again within the next 12 months at least once and as we are there for 8 days the discounts would come in useful!!

would it be possible to switch our tickets to annual passes instead of hoppers that we will have got as part of our package do you think?if not would it be worth my while purchasing one annual dream pass for myself and getting one days worth of my hopper refunded do you think?

if only i buy the dream pass would we get discounts off food for all three of us provided i am present each time?and also with the shop discounts would this apply?what are the discounts like for booking a hotel in the future for any trip i may wish to take in the future?again would the 35% discount apply to the whole party staying in one room as long as im there with my pass?

would you guys recommend the annual pass?

finally...i know this is a bit cheeky but if i was the buy an annual pass and get one day of my hopper ticket refunded (ive read earlier in this discussion its only one day you can get reimbursed for is this right?) would my ticket still be valid for the other 7 days that ive paid for for a year so i could pass it on to someone else??

any help or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Unfortunately hotel-booked DLP tickets as part of a package have a face value of 0 euros (it's what it says on the ticket itself) so they would give no discount. If you are going to get an annual pass for the discounts you do get discount off for everyone. The 35%room discount is not in additional to the discounts you usually get such as 30% for your stay etc and is only for select hotels on select dates. You'd have to get the 119 euro annual passport to get reasonable discounts and to make that money back you'd need to spend 1190 euros in food and merchandise to make your money back (although you'd not have to pay for your tickets next time you go back).
