As I understand it, we can check in to our Disney Hotel on the Eurostar. Does anyone know if we can book "good morning Fantasyland" at this time (like you can when checking in at the hotel itself) and do they allocate the breakfast slots on the train too??

Many thanks  :D

No they dont. And the last few times we have been you still have to check in when you get to the hotel. They just give you your park tickets and meal vouchers etc and the form to fill in when you check into your hotel on the train. You still have to pick up your room cards when you check in at the hotel.

Changing the subject slightly, i went Eurostar last Wednesday and the activity packs given to children were leftovers from the New Generation Festival! A bit poor I thought! How many of those must they have ordered?

Ok, we will be using the DLP offer in the Sun, again, to go back in the Feb half term.

Looking at the Eurostar website, 2 adults and 2 kids St Pancreas to DLP (direct) return in that week is £405 EACH WAY. The price doesn't even reduce if you get on at Ashford !!??!!

I understand that going via Lille is an alternative cheaper option (only £120 each way for the London -> Lille part) but how complicated is the change/onward journey to DLP ? Also, where is the best place to get Lille -> DLP tickets as the Eurostar site doesn't do them ?

You can book the whole fare, UK to DLP via Lille, at about 12 weeks before travel, through Eurostar. Phone them now and ask when that fare will be available, then set your alarm to book it (I suspect a lot of half-termers will be doing that this year, as the direct Eurostar fare has been crazy expensive since it was released months ago).

Thanks Elaine, booking with Eurostar makes sense I suppose.

I assume the fare will be available in a couple of weeks for travel on the 18th Feb

I spoke to Eurostar today and they said tickets from Mid July until 30th November 2013 will go on sale Boxing Day. I shall be booking my Halloween trip a little earlier that I thought!

On our previous visits we've bought eurostar tickets separately from our hotel reservations.  Next year we are going in early Feb and because the weather is likely to be worse, and could possibly disrupt trains, we bought our tickets through disney.  We booked and paid in full in August, does anyone have any idea when are we likely to receive our train tickets?  One of our party is vegetarian and that meal needs to be booked in advance using the seat reservation number.  I've phoned disney and been told incorrectly that they carry vegetarian meals and don't need to book one (from past experience I know this to be incorrect), I've also tried emailing disney who have simply emailed back telling me to phone them (not helpful if the person at the end of the phone doesn't know the correct information.)

I booked direct with Disney for Christmas and received our tickets around 2 weeks before. They say it can be around 7-10 days before travel though

Thanks :)  I didn't see anything in the stuff that was sent to me about being 7-10 days before travel.

I have to say that I'm increasingly unimpressed with the way Eurostar/the station handle people boarding the train at the DLP end. In Ashford (and is St P really that different?) you put your ticket in a machine, you go through security, through passport control and then have a large waiting lounge to relax in.

The last two times I've been though, the return journey has been organised chaos both times due to minimal staff, check in opening late and no organisation. Yesterday people turned up as requested 1hr before departure time. Check in was supposed to open at 15:45 for a 17:02 departure. Check in finally opened at 16:30 by which time basically every person who was on that completely sold out Eurostar was waiting on the station concourse. Then they had only two guys checking passports, two people taking tickets and checking in and only two security gates. They wanted everyone with buggies to go to one side - can you imagine how many buggies were there?! Unsurprisingly we got back to Ashford 40 minutes late. Which is fine for me, I live in Ashford but for other people who have connecting trains to catch etc...

Sometimes delays happen but the fact their solution is to let that many people just crowd up in a small area is pretty laughable.

I totally agree, the Eurostar home is always a nightmare. Mum's train home on 21st December was delayed by 30 mins due to lack of check in staff!!! Absolutely ridiculous!

We're off next Thursday to DLP and have a couple of Eurostar questions.

Firstly, we are going from Ashford and during previous visits, there has been a Disney Express desk in the departure lounge at Ashford Eurostar station. However, our paperwork this time makes no reference to where the Disney Express desk is. Do they still have one at Ashford or do they now pass through the train the hand out the envelopes as they used to?

Secondly, we are taking our 9 month old twins for their first visit to Disney which means we are taking a double buggy. I have had a look on the Eurostar website to see if there are any problems with taking a double buggy onboard and weather we would have to let them know that we're bringing a double buggy and I can't find anything. I'm assuming there is no problem and we just put it on the train like any other item of luggage?

Finally, does anyone know the latest parking charges at Ashford? When we last went 2 years ago, I believe it was £9.50 a day. I just wanted to see if anyone knows if it is still the same.

Many thanks for all your help!

Oh we are going in May from Ashford direct to Disney, I thought all tickets and baggage labels were given to us on the train?
