DLRP will be a much bigger challenge than WDW, because of the more complex landscaping and architecture.

I cannot wait for this to be finished!

I can't wait to see that! I am sure that in the future, people will be walking around DLRP with their phones, using Google Maps/Earth and walking through the park before they walk. It will be like sat nav for DLRP!

I can't wait to see this for myself, the WDW one was great, so ours should be better :P

The Envie de+ article actually features the first images of the 3D recreation:

They look brilliant. So realistic, despite the models actually being very simple.

I was already kinda doing this in December with my iPhone and Google Earth...but in 3D...now that would be awesome!

:D I thought someone might have already used Google Earth around the park.

Maybe Disney will latch onto the idea and produce a branded version of Google Earth that you can use a Disney Sat Nav! They could even get it to work the Bluetooth technology they have been using in the Studios to add waiting times, meet and greets, parades and so on. Could be very interesting!

They look brilliant, I especially like the spiral of pixie dust twirling around the castle, a very clever idea. I've got high prospects for this now, I can't wait to see the finished product

Quote from: "DLRP Today"The magazine quotes http://www.disneylandparis.fr/googleearth3d, which brings up a page error.

However, the actual address, as confirmed in the footer of the official text we've got hold of, should be /googleearth3D, with a capital 'D' in 3D. You can therefore already view the page in French here (//http://www.disneylandparis.fr/googleearth3D/index.xhtml) or English here (//http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/googleearth3D/index.xhtml).
This is part of the article on DLRP Today (http://www.dlrptoday.com/2009/01/15/850 ... gic-in-3d/). With regards to the links, I can get the first, supposedly incorrect link to work, but not the other two. Is it just me or is it the same for anyone else?

85,000 pictures is such a huge amount of effort! Disney must see potential in all this.

Must have changed since the article was written... !

The correct address is http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/googleearth3d then. :)

It'll be interesting to see how (or if) they do the information pop-ups like WDW has, since for WDW they seem to be connected right into the resort's attraction pages themselves. I'm not sure that DLRP's website is that advanced. We'll see...

I just ran Google Earth and switched on the 3D Buildings, but there was no sign of anything at Disneyland Resort Paris.

Today IS the 28th of March 2009, isn't it? :-)
