what is you favourite means of travel to dlrp? we flew from edinburgh/ glasgow on our first 4 trips then decided to try driving. we went from portsmouth to le havre twice, dover to calais once and several times by the rosyth ferry from beside edinburgh to zeebrugge. we have settled now for p&o from hull to zeebrugge as this isn't nearly as expensive as the rosyth crossing and also a much shorter drive. we really enjoy the freedom that driving gives us, both to sight- see in britain and belgium/france. we usually take a day out of the park at the weekend and go touring- just love provins. we have taken lots of wrong turns, seen many unintended places (cental paris and charles de gaulle airport to name but two !!) and every time we see the first sign for the park we are really glad to know that we are almost "home."

my favorite means (only one ive really done) is driving, because we turn that 5 hours of travel into 7 or so... we tend to stop at some towns here and there. this year will be different because

1: baby cousin this time
2: no room in car so baby cousin and aunty are flying
3: because they will be there faster we will need to go non stop

Ferry is great, Flying is great but flying can cause more problems

Lived in Germany and in the U.K. Drove there in Germany. Drove and ferry from U.K. Hubby wont even consider the tunnel :roll:

weird, mine is really keen to do the tunnel but i won't!!

Must say I am not overly keen on it myself. Hubby likes the fact he gets a longer break and a walk around on the ferry.

the 1st time we went, we live in the midlands area we flew from manchester, from the time we left home to the time we stepped of the shuttle busses in disney was 10 1/2 hours and returning home was a night mare from losing the plane at CDG to getting no steps to leave the plane  :roll:

the 2nd time we went we used eurostar, we left for london on national express about 2am in the morning and found out the driver had sold our seats in manchester so they had to take us to bham by taxi, but once we got to london we had about an hour wait and straight onto the train no problems at all, coming back was better as we had a night planned in london  

for us now eurostar wins every time with a night in london both sides of disney

first I went by train... from Amsterdam to Disney but that is no longer possible so I travel no by bus.... it takes me about 5 or 6 hours to get there by bus so that is reasonable... I have to be in Prinsenbeek at 7.00 and at 13.00 we should be arriving at the hotel... so that is really fast but I would prefer the train if it goes non stop again

My favorite method of travel has to be train, as it gets you right to the center of the resort!

You can get the Thalys to Paris Nord and hop on the RER, so you don't need to sit in a bus for 6 hours  :shock:   You can also get the train to Brussels and hop on the TGV to Marne-la-Vallée.

First time - coach trip via Dover.

Second time - flew from Manchester to CDG Airport, then shuttle bus (nightmare) to DLRP.

Third time - overnight drive and ferry crossing myself, nice, easy and stress free and will be the method for all future visits.

Driving also means I can bring back more Belle stuff!

we have only ever done it self drive, but have done few variations!!!

Ideally i would ALWAYS use the Hull/Zeebrugge Ferry - it is so easy as its 10 mins drive from my house, then when we're on the ferry we can sit in the bar while the kids are in the ball pools, or play in the arcade, try to make it a FREE trip via the casino (not worked yet!), then have a good -ish night sleep, dock in the morning at 8.30 am then its a very easy 3 hour drive to the park.  Trouble is, that the prices vary, we have just booked to go in November - 2 nights on ferry & 3 nights at Sequoia for £200 for the ferry but our normal visit to DLRP is in Summer, tied in with a week in a cottage, because its a long stay & high season its around £500 - so its cheaper to drive to Dover, stop off at say Woburn or Whipsnade, and then used both Tunnel (very quick & easy) and ferry (Seafrance - nice boats).

One tip I've read somewhere before, and I have to agree with, is that it is cheaper to get the evening dover crossing & sleep in France (Formule 1, B & B, etc), than it is to sleep in a Travelodge and get  morning crossing.

I am alone with the little one in a baby carriage... so I just want to go non stop.. that is way easier for me. I have done Paris nord and then the RER, it gave me some problems. And getting to Brussels really early in the morning is not really doable either and like I said with 2 suitcases and a stroller... it is just impossible in my opinion... when little one is older and don't need a stroller anymore and could carry his own suitcase.. we will be going by train again

we've tried it all ways really, the first 4 times we went by eurostar which is really our favourite still, just the price prevents us from using it more frequently. however next year i believe we can buy eurostar tickets wiht our many nectar points so we will be likely to do this again.

we hated driving but that's purely because we went on the shuttle from folkestone which is a 7 hour drive from home then a fair few hours the other side.

last 4 or so times we've flown, had no problems with the vea shuttle buses and have often managed to get cheap flights from leeds bradford.

but i still prefer the eurostar cause it gets you straight there.
