Smoking Areas
« on: July 20, 2015, 11:33:44 AM »
InsideDLParis have tweeted that there is a new, dedicated smoking are behind the Old Mill.

Do you think management have heard how much of a problem people find smoking in the park and are doing something about it?

When I last visited Disneyland Paris in 2008, I didn't really notice anyone smoking... However, I know that over the years people have had some pretty serious problems with smokers (and I personally will be unimpressed if I am surrounded by smokers in the park, away from the designated smoking area).

I just hope that this is the start of DLP making a stand against those smoking in queues, parades, ect and I hope the rules are enforced - I saw a picture of the new smoking area and it does look quite nice - although it's not somewhere I'll be keen on visiting, ahha!

I must admit I was really annoyed about the amount of people smoking in the queue for rides, I gave up smoking years ago but even when I did I still considered other people and wouldn't of dreamed of smoking in a queue where small children were standing, definitely should have designated smoking areas within the park

I hope there aren't too many smokers when I go, I remember queuing for disney on ice in Nottingham, there were hoards of children in the queue, as you would expect, and there were people lighting up. It made me so cross.

Really hope this isn't the case at DLP.

I signed it as well.
Whilst I doubt that Disney will pay attention to it (although of course I hope they do), I still think doing the effort of signing it is better than doing nothing at all.

I've also shared it on twitter and my DLP tumblr, so hopefully that should get some extra signatures.
Fingers crossed it ends up making a difference in the end.

These area's have been around for quite some time now.
But poorly signalized (in my opinion).
They are on the maps though.

We stumbled upon 2 spots last week, but can't remember for the life of me where they were, lol.

I'm a smoker and really struggled to find the smoking areas, even after asking cast members! I would never smoke in queues or when surrounded by people.  It's my personal choice to smoke, so I don't expect everyone else to be inflicted with my second hand smoke. At the end of the day, I go to DLRP to enjoy the characters and atmosphere, not to smoke.  I smoked far less than usual when I was there and didn't feel deprived.

So do I Hildekitten. Unfortunately whether it's pushing and shoving, or smoking, some people are just plain rude.  For the record, I've signed the petition!

Im a none smoker, hate the smoke but not bothered about them smoking in the park whilst walking around as long as its kept out of peoples faces. What I do hate is them smoking in the queues & eating areas or during parades when a large number of people are gathered. My father never did this when he smoked because it was aware of the children & other non smokers around him. I think we do notice it more now though since the U.K banned smoking in various areas- I personally love coming home now from various outings & not smelling of smoke.
