If the French government help out, it sounds like it may happen!

Still not sure how I feel about it.  :|

I'm a little skeptical... Is it going to be built on the property?

I hope it doesn't come to light... But I think that's mainly cause I don't like F1

I assume it will be a street style circuit somewhere/somehow rather than building a whole new track from scratch.

I think it would be a good idea to host a Formula 1 racing. It is just one weekend a year and imagine the advertisement for DLRP. Formula 1 racings are very popular in Europe, so maybe many people will come to the resort.

Exactly! I would love it!
But my downside is how and where? Will it be build as a whole new circuit? Is it nearby DLRP or really at DLRP? Won't this be just a onetimer and then in the future there's a circuit laying around...
Surely love the idea, but i also hope that they do it with quality, make it special and also a circuit which isn't only a parade of f1 cars!!

Hopefully it won't be just a parade for the F1 cars... but they could turn it into a themed Go Kart track for the other 50 weeks of the year... or is that a bit lame?

I am a motorsport fan, and this would be the perfect holiday for me!  Disney and F1 combined.

However I don't think it would happen.

1) Bernie Ecclestone (he who runs F1) would rather a Paris street track
2) Motosport people call unchallenging circuits and corners "a bit Mickey Mouse), the F1 community would ridicule the whole concept, particularly if the mouse was to make an appearance.
3) The hotels would be fully occupied instantly.  Prices would go through the roof.  As an example I go to Silverstone (British Grand Prix circuit) a lot.  Although I live 30 minutes away my family and I often camp at nearby Whittlebury Hall.  Non Grand Prix Weekends campsite fees are £10 to £20 per weekend.  Grand Prix for the same facilities is costing me £140.  Whittlebury Hall hotel normally charges £120 per night, GP weekend increase to £520 for the same room.
4) F1 would demand far too much infrastructure, look at the upcoming Singapore Night race.

So, exciting though it would be, it is also a poisoned challace.

If it is a purpose built FIA grade 1 licensed track then WTCC, F3, FIA GT A1GP would all use it.

There are no exisiting race circuits of suitable international standard in France except Paul Ricard, Magny Cours and La Sarthe (Le Mans).

Paul Ricard (only used for testing) is near Marseille and Magny Cours is near Nevers.

The nearest race track to DLP (Circuit Jean-Pierre Beltoise ) is Kart racing and will not be upgradable.

F1 is a major enterprise, turning over more than the Walt Disney Company.  Any circuit to be created will be designed by Herman Tilke, the man who creates all of the new tracks, this will also be true if the roads of Disney or Paris are closed for a race.

F1 charges a circuit for the privilege of holding a race, so Disney would be well advised to stay clear of paying for a facility. (Silverstone pays £19million a year for the race, its only income is from tickets sales, all other revenue goes to Formula One Management)  This means that the race only just breaks even.

Any new facility would have to be built and paid for by the government.  Hence why it would likely to be a street race (using existing roads).

its difficult to see where they can even find a suitable collection of roads though as there are so many roundabouts at dlrp!

would be kinda weird seeing an F1 car go round a roundabout!

The hairpin at Casino Square is exceptionally tight!  An F1 car will happily perform the turn!  The roads around DLP would be fine, the problem lies with the rest of the infrastructure and who will pay.

I must say, I´m a bit sceptical. I´m not a big F1 fan so seeing some races at DLRP would for me an issue to not go at this time. Maybe it would be a cause for me watching it at TV to see some shots of DLRP.

On the other hand it def. would fill the hotels. But that mustn´t have a totally win for the parks. Mainly there would be F1 Fans that doesn´t mean that they are also disney fans. So it could happen, that the hotels are full but the parks not in the same way. The spend per guests wouldn´t be high in this case.

And remember the big "Don´t cross this line - backstage - vip - areas". If I pay for DLRP I want to have my freedom.

Building a new racing track at DLRP is for me an absolute NO. Taking the routes around the resort would be ok. You can stay away if you aren´t a fan like me and must not see a mostly unused track near the magic for the rest of the year (maybe with some testing noise or other races on it while I try to get in the magic). Also some permanent bleachers could destroy my magic feelings :( .

So take your F1 weekend at the existing routes around DLRP but stay away with your tarmac, noise and fences for the rest of the year.
