That looks huge!

And I hope it doesn't clash too much with the bright colours of the Village entrance...

All we know is that it will be some time next year. With the progress that they're making, I'm guessing that it will be just before the summer season, but we'll see... :)

Isn't the Village entrance getting a new sign/look next year?

Yes. The builders are adding stone panels that have Disney characters engraved on them.

When we were there this week the front of it didnt look any different to the pictures ive seen on here, still a concrete slab, lots of work was going on at the back of it though but we couldnt quite see what they were doing.

These bas-relief designs are absolutely awesome. Here's a clearer photo of the Buzz Lightyear one:

from DCP's Facebook page

A really clever working of the characters into Art Deco motifs.

While I am not really a huge fan of slamming characters everywhere, this seems to be working out well. It is similar to the bias relief in Discoveryland or the sports stars on Disneyland's ESPN. Nice stuff. It will be great to see the finished article.

Indeed, and for an example of how not to do it...

But do you know what I like the entrance, it says Disney to me, and we've arrived at Disneyland.

Totally agree. It looks cheap.

On the other hand, the WoDS looks really good.

WoDS looks good. I hate the fact the castle is gone in favour of toons, People, there has been more to Disney than toons for well over 50 years now!

it's Mickey and Minnie Mouse at the entrance, instead of a fairytale castle. It was all started by a mouse, I don't have a problem with that, they're world famous characters. Walt Disney came up with many of them, they are his characters. Not that I've ever arrived at the park by car, because I haven't.
