Quote from: "gally80"Hello guys,

Quick question and Im sure it's not an issue.

I recently booked a trip to DLRP in November with 3 friends. Booked through a travel agent including Eurostar.

I noticed that if you book through Eurostar you get to choose a ticket for a minor (21 - 25) but our agent has just booked 4 adult tickets. Im not bothered, just wanted to make sure this wouldn't be queried by Eurostar.

Many Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary

I'm not sure of the answer to your question; but you could try e mailing Eurostar themselves here
http://www.eurostar.com/UK/uk/leisure/c ... ail_us.jsp

I e mailed them as the name of my husband was spelt incorrectly on our tickets and I wanted to make sure that wasn't problem and they e mailed me within a few days saying that it was okay to have his name misspelt on the tickets.

Thank you for your reply. I have checked with them and apparently it's fine. Im going to print the reply and take it with me (just in case) :)

Your very welcome Gary.  I'm printing off the reply I got about hubby's surname being spelt differently being okay.  Think it is definitely worth covering yourself that way!

Quote from: "Adam"Have you booked via Ashford and they didn't tell you that you would have to go via Ebbsfleet? If so, I would ask them to pay for accommodation and travel for the inconvenience!

They didn't tell me that it was closed.   I called them and they said they would check the recordings and maybe move the dates.  That would mean changing dates with Disney too though and it would be easier to go on the Sunday!!!

Do you think they would stump up for accommodation though seen as I live 4-5 hrs drive away and would need to have accommodation anyway?

It is worth a try - it can't do any harm. It is going to cost you time and money to travel and have accommodation, so they should make a concession of some form.

Quote from: "kiki_304"Hi, I have only just discovered (after booking with Eurostar yesterday) that Ashford is not open on 2nd Oct for Disneyland.  I actually read on here and called them to find out!

I don't mind going from Ebbsfleet (hope Hubby doesn't either when he finds out), but I need to find some accommodation for the night before and the night of our return.  Does anyone know of anywhere decent nearby, that will not cost the earth.  TIA

I don't understand how they was able to book you tickets from Ashford on the 2nd Oct, as I booked my tickets last month and the lady was unable to purchase me a ticket leaving from Ashford on that same day her computer just wouldn't allow her to do it, she checked and said Ashford was closed and said about going from Ebbsfleet which I am now doing.

They didn't book me a ticket from Ashford even though I asked for Ashford.  When I had the email through it said from St Pancras and I called back and was told that I would be able to get on at Ashford.  Not one person told me in my 2 phone calls told me that Ashford was closed is what I am saying.  Then I read on here a couple of days later (on your thread, so I owe you a thanks) that Ashford was closed then called them back and they said that maybe they hadn't announced that it was closed yet and staff wasn't aware of the closure.  But the thread on here was date 25th March.

I am going to stay at the Travelodge in Maidstone now as they offer the breakfast and evening meal service.  The Travelodge closer to Ebbsfleet don't offer this service and my family are vegetarians so are limited to where they can eat.

My spot you at Ebbsfleet on the 2nd then. lol

Yes, we are staying over night at the travelodge because we live in South Wales and always drive down the day before.

Quote from: "LilysDad"We're booked for the 1/2 term at the end of May and this time are taking the Eurostar to Paris and then changing to the local RER to Marne le Valee.  Will drop off the bags at Disney Express and away we go.

Haven't done this route before though and although I understand its one stop from Gare du Nord to Chatellet les Halles before changing to RER A, I wondered if anyone could give me some firm directions.

    Is it well signposted
Are there stairs / lifts to negotiate ?
Where do we buy the tickets from once we get off Eurostar ?
Do we get return tickets (we arrive on Monday and return on Thursday) or just singles?
Are there special prices for families / children or is it a flat fare ?

All help and any other tips gratefully received.

Haven't had any help yet, so....:Bump:

Can anyone give me some advice/reassurance please?

I've been to Disneyland Paris loads of times but always driven & gone on the Dover to Calais ferry. I've never contemplated using Eurotunnel or Eurostar as I have claustrophobia. I can't even go through a tunnel in a car unless I can see the light at the other end  pathetic I know. Oddly I am ok on a train going through a tunnel but they usually only last a couple of minutes...

Amyway as I have separated from my husband another trip to my favourite place looked unlikely but I have the chance to go in August & meet up with family over there who will be part way through a 2 weeks Eurocamping trip.

Realistically I know that the easiest way to get there would be by using Eurostar as I can't drive & would be travelling alone. However I really don't know if I can face going through the tunnel. I believe its about half an hour in the tunnel & I'm worried I'd have some kind of panic attack or get hysterical & as I'll be on my own I'll have nobody to calm me down.

If anything could get me through the tunnel its the thought of 3 days at DLP but I really don't know if I can manage it.

Has anyone with claustrophobia used Eurostar & been ok?

Hi Holly,  I don't suffer with claustrophobia but I'm not the best in tunnels and I was nervous about the whole idea.  TBH  you don't really notice that you are in the tunnel as the train is well lit.

Maybe if you read a book, magazine or occupy yourself then you won't notice when you're in the tunnel.  I had 2 young boys occupying me with puzzles so I felt fine.  You are in and out before you know it.

Also, maybe you could talk to the people next to you and let them know that you're nervous about it.  They may just help you if need be.

Good luck, and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Would going at night make any difference?

Alternatively, you could fly.

I hope one day they have two direct trains a day to DLRP - the current one (at 9am in the morning) really isn't good for people living any further north than Birmingham, and I really don't like the hassle of flying

flying's not an option for me, I've never been on a plane & never intend to, just the thought of it brings me out in a cold sweat  :( I guess a tunnel under the sea should be a piece of cake compared to a plane.

I live in Lancashire so am going to have to travel down the night before & stop over in London ready for the train in the morning.

Still haven't decided if I'm brave enough but I want to get the tickets booked soon so will have to make my mind up...

I have claustrophobia and was extremely unhappy about the thought of being in a tunnel under the sea . When we got to St Pancras I was so excited to be going to Disney I tried not to think too much about it. Once we were on the train and it  went into the tunnel I did get that feeling of panic beginning to build but I tried to concentrate on things that were happening on the train, had a trip to the buffet car and the toilet, another check of the Disney confirmation letter and did I still have my passport. When we came out of the tunnel I do remember thinking was that it? This year will be our third year going by Eurostar.

Just think, 3 days in Disney, your favourite rides, soaking up the atmosphere, the magic and seeing your family, not to mention the 25% off offer!

You can do it!!!  =D>
