Quote from: "dagobert"I may be wrong on that, but I think I read somewhere that the first version of the TOT was not allowed to be built, because it was made of steel and that was against the French Construction Law. That's why the DLRP TOT is made of concrete while the others are made of steel.

I know that after the Great Fire of London, the king of France declared that all buildings in France must be of stone or brick. While that is still not fully the law, I believe this is why the majority of buildings in France are still concrete. If anyone is local, maybe they could explain better?
since 2001 (many before that)

Is there any news about the Ratatouille attraction ? It's been really quiet since the last post.

does anyone know if planning permission has been granted yet? i mean, i seriously doubt it will get turned down, but as soon as its granted it'll probably mean an offical announcement with more specs and stuff.

There seems to be a discrepancy between the amount of land in this photo (looks small) and the size of the building in the concept art (looks huge). Can anyone explain this?

It's just the angle. Dlp doesn't look as big from aerial shots but it can take forever to walk around

Yes. The trees probably make it look small as well. :)

Also, yes, the planning permission has been granted. It was through that that we were able to see the concept art of the ride. ;)

Sorry for the double post.

Does anyone think that we'll see any news for this in the D23 expo?

Personally I'd expect this year's D23 to be all Shanghai but given DLP's track record on announcing rides, I'd bet no unfortunately.

Let's hope this news is true. The sooner they start construction the sooner we can all experience it :-)

I hope that the toilets are still in the plans. They don't have any in the Toon Studio, and the nearest ones are the ones at the back of Studio 1.

They're still in the art of animation building, it's near the Studio Tram Tour.
