Has construction started? Kind of.

A Parisian street leading down to the proposed location of the Ratatouille dark ride has been fully built, complete with Chef Remy benches. And the site of the ride has actually been cleared, with blue construction walls put up around it. But construction work on the ride itself hasn't started; no foundations, no vertical construction.

Do you think they'll use the current building to save money, or could it be demolished?

Did anyone attend the shareholder meeting today? I just read through Disney Central Plaza and it seems that Philippe Gas, CEO of ED SCA, said something about Ratatouille. My French isn't the best anymore, so I'm not sure what he exactly mentiones at the meeting. Maybe someone else has some informations.

Translated from Disney Central Plaza:

Philippe Gas, Disneyland Paris CEO, announced a few minutes ago at the General Meeting of shareholders on Ratatouille was a good attraction to the study

Farewell to doubts about the upcoming implementation of this attraction at the Resort!

sorry what does "good attraction to study" mean?

Well I've read that the attraction is "well advanced" which I understand as being well into development.

It sounds like all the plans are ready, they just need to decide when to start construction. But surely construction will actually start this year, 2011, meaning the opening will be sometime in 2013.

I would say that's good news. At least it didn't get cancelled. Hopefully that's not the only new thing for the 20th birthday. Any news on Star Tours II as well?

I haven't read anything about Star Tours II. But to be honest, I would much rather have a proper Ratatouille dark ride, than Star Tours II. If Disney only have enough money to build one of those two rides, then they're absolutely right spending it on Ratatouille.

I absolutely agree with you on this, but please Disney save some millions and fix at least all the broken things inside Star Tours. It's really a shame how it looks at the moment.

I think ZINDERELLA got the info from here:
http://www.dlrptoday.com/2011/03/10/rat ... -way-away/

I'm sorry that I don't join the excitement, but as long as there are no plans, concept art or construction, I don't consider it as confirmed.

Well until any of the plans are officially released, I suppose now's a good time to look back at these articles on DLRPToday:

http://www.dlrptoday.com/2009/12/28/che ... -by-a-rat/

One thing I'm confused about, though, is that the plans show that the ride will be built next to the costume building... But isn't the costume building redundant now, so what will it be used for?
