I'd love for them to just take some time to redesign or create a totally new recoil effect. The current one seems to be just too tricky for them to keep working properly for extended periods of time! I remember at the 15th Anniversary when they got it working again, it was wonderful and really added to Discoveryland! There must be a way to keep it at least moving to some extent!

As for new trains, it's a shame they weren't putting them on this time, but that's not to say they didn't try them out to see what changes needed making (if any). So I'm not too let down by their lack of appearance this time, roll on 2012 and Space Mountain Mission 2.5!

So what is the latest on the new restriants? They were supposed to changed over in September originally.... why the delay? It must be up there as one of the most important changes that the park needs, given the beating the coaster gives its riders...

I just watched a private video from 2003. Listening to the old score makes me sad!!!
Why did they change the theme AT ALL?? There was no need to it!

I agree, change everything else, but the score was where the heart from the ride came from.

When i was in the que for the ride i noticed the electricity part at the end of the ride was view able for the waiting guests and i was wondering what part of the story does this adhere to

That's the electro velocitor. in the story it powers the cannon and projectiles to be launched.

hey I am going to disneyland paris very soon now (29th of January)
I do love space mountain mission 2, but I always come out with neck and shoulder pains.

Does anybody knows if the new trains have been installed already? and if so.. are they less painful?
I would be a shame to go trough the queue and than have to walk away because the old trains are to painful for me?

They can  be painful if you sit in a specific way, but if you've been on it as much as me you know ways to make it a pleasant experience.

Yep know that, and most of the time I can manage to do it less painfull. But I am very long so that is not helping. Most of the times I just go and ride it because i would hate to miss it. Maybe I save it for the last day. In that way my other day's don't get ruined by the pain.

I'm one of those people that hate rollercoasters until I've done them. How similar a ride is this to Hulk at Islands of Adventure? Has the ride become smoother in the past year?

It is a little smoother if you're a repeat rider, but compared to the hulk it isn't that bad. And once you get started on it, you'd love it

I was like that on my previous trip  but it always helps to think of something that helps you through it, for me it was the knowledge about the book its based on.
