It's the same system as in the US. Next step will probably be that the hotels become room only (just guessing here). If the breakfast offerings improve due to this decision, we will be happy to pay a bit extra. But i'm not going to pay over €10 for the limited buffet and weak coffee  ;D they have now.

I'm booked for next sept already so with  breakfast included in my price

and was planning on adding a meal plan on once released

but now I could technically be paying twice for breakfast :'(

I booked in June for September next year and booked a meal plan at the same time.  I booked it through the Walt Disney Travel Company though (I always book through them), not the actual DLP site.

Disney are acting in a very greedy manner. There is no way my 6 year old coukd eat £11 worth of breakfast each day. We stay at Cheyenne for five days so this extra would add over two hundred pounds onto our holiday. Add to this and the change in Disney Express charging per person not per adult. Disney are pricing families out. Sad really sad?

Yes I agree. If they think that this is going to make them money then they are sorely mistaken. The ones who will find an increase in profits will be the train station and McDonalds. All these money grabbing ideas including ap have come to light since the new "wumman" started work there...boo to you!

Maybe its not about "making money", but more about "saving money".

I wonder how many of these new initiatives were instigated by the new management, or if they were hangovers from the old management.

Whoever it is, they still not forgiven for destroying the heritage of Fantasia Gardens and replacing it with lifeless tat.

I've also wonder about that. Can't say that I remember hearing anything about a change there.

They ripped up all of the named stones and replaced them with bland slabs. Looks like a shopping mall now.

People used to wander around, up and down the steps looking at all the names and places. No evidence of that in the summer, people were ignoring the lower level and walking straight to the park by the shortest route.

Thanks but why were there names on the stones?  Did people pay for them?

Ok, so lets see if I understand correctly - if you BOOK before 12th October, even for holidays AFTER that date, then breakfast is still included?

As others have said, the basic breakfasts in the Santa Fe & Cheyenne (for example) are not worth that asking price, and it massively increases the price of the holiday overall. I can imagine McDonalds will sell a lot of breakfasts though!

Yes they did. You could pay to have your name, a message, or a dedication on a stone. Many people had dedications to a passed loved one, others had their children's names on there, presumably hoping that when they grew older and took their own children they could show it to them. In my opinion it was in rather poor taste to remove them. If they needed replacing due to age, that's fine, but they should have replaced them with new ones with the same dedication. From what I remember, it wasn't cheap (150 euros or similar?).

I'm not sure if it was because they knew people were upset, but there was no announcement or indication that they were to be destroyed. It would have been less grieving if people had had the opportunity to save their stones. Each one was numbered and could have been requested.

There was a very small number that had cracked. There was a whole area that had become loose, due to being poorly laid. It would have been less costly, and much more preferable to have relayed them, like they did with the French football team ones in front of the Mickey flowerbed, before they ripped them up too.

The ones outside the Studios have fared less well - they cracked and shattered almost as soon as they were laid - but they're still there - quite an eyesore!

They still have the stones laid at WDW and DLR - they obviously have a sense of heritage there.

Example of the stones at DLP can be seen here - http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMA958_Walk_Around_the_World_Bricks_Disneyland_Paris_Paris

The only one I could justify is Disneyland Hotel, all the rest no way. I cant say I'm surprised though, with the amount of food people take, for snacks later in the day, they must have been loosing alot of money. The Village , especially McDonalds will be manic now early in the money, anyone know what time it opens?? I know Starbucks opens at 8am.

I can see a drop in first and second time UK and Irish families, as many hotels in UK and Ireland have no extra charge for breakfasts.

£19 for Newport breakfast?!

The restaurant is lovely but i only have a couple of croissants!

They have lost their minds!

adr2.8i

this will add £100's if your staying a Disney hotel for a 4 night stay if your a family of 4 like we are.  >:(

And DRP isnt exactly cheap as it is!

I'll be happily trundling to Auchan to get my breakfast. You can get a box of freshly baked croissants for a few euro!  ;D

Thank you, that sounds lovely and they definitely shouldn't have replaced them with plain slabs.
