Hahaha me and Lewis have been discussing this and the answer is....EVERYTHING  

Cos the contracts run through the seasons id suggest bringing both summer and winter clothing! the weather is pretty much the same as here and seeing as we had gorgeous sun last week and now rain all day today im guessing we need multiseasonal clothing lol. Im bringing my winter coats and a blanket for when it gets cold and all my dance shoes cos never know when youre gonna need them plus hairdryer, straighteners and most importantly plug adaptors....havent quite figured out how im going to pack it all tho  :?  

We dont have tv apparantly so i'll be bringing a few DVDs i can watch on my laptop plus some books....oh and some home comforts for when i first arrive....earl grey tea, biscuits and peanut butter  

Im stressing about it too....are u taking a suitcase or holdalls??? Have you booked your travel yet??

I'll be relying on you and Lewis to tell me what im gonna need and how bad the accommodation is seeing as you two will be there 10 days before me

Defiantly taking straighteners, I might some new ones cause my GHD's have been running like a trooper for several years and still work perfectly.. but have a feeling that once I get there, they will break! Will need to take plug adaptors too, and bring lots of DVD's.

Will bring tea bags too + all my hair products I get only from England!

I'm taking suitcases, can't be doing with carrying big heavy bags everywhere! You can only take two suitcases and one hand luggage on the Eurostar!

Lol the luggage thing is the same on Thalys (Amsterdam-Paris) but I took like 4 bags/suitcases + 1 handbag with me when I went to Paris, and one of my friends took like 4/5 bags/suitcases (not as big as mine) and 1/2 handbags (laptop + purse) with her to Amsterdam. They won't tell you to leave sth behind. It's just that there are more people who will have their luggage and need storage space in the train, which isn't available a lot. So you can take lik 3/4 bags. Just keep in mind that you need to carry it from Gare du Nord to RER B (normally without luggage and if you know where to go it's about 5min walk) and from RER B to RER A at Chatelet (which is luckily the same platform) and at Marne-la-vallée to your residence.

The eurostar goes via Lille or direct to DLP so only the one change if youre unlucky (like me) and we get a minibus to the accommodation so shouldnt be a problem. Might have to get a suitcase as well as bags...how much hand luggage do u reckon i could take and would they object to me wearing all my winter coats, scarfs etc and carrying my blanket to my seat....only way its all gonna fit i think lol

Lewis, im taking my straighteners too!! Mine are Remingtons, only about £20 and theyve worked great for years. My hair is really long and these are better than GHDs in my opinion....plus im far too stingy to fork out that ridiculous amount for something to just do my hair!!

Im worried that when i go shopping at the supermarket i wont know what im buying and all the restaurant menus seem to be in French....thank god for translator apps on Iphone!!!

PS stupid question but can you drink the water in France??

alaina, yeah you can drink the water there, as when i was in one of the hotels last year, we had a kettle in our room and we filled it up with water from the bathroom! But as I said, yes you can, but it tastes different to british water!!

Can you guys please keep in touch when over in paris, as id love to know what its like in the accommodation, what its like getting normal ammenities or even more basic than that, what the cast members are like!

Over the summer im going to try and learn french again, cause i havent spoke it properly in 4 years!!

Do you ask me how much you can take without being noticed? (All i'll tell you will be based on my experiences with Thalys, not Eurostar.) They usually have 1 conductor (if that's the name for the guy who's checking your ticket) at every door. But they will only tell you about where to board, like if you're in carriage 1 sometimes it's easier to board at 2 because you're at the end of 1. And íf they tell you something about you're luggage, like a comment; wow you have brought a lot of stuff, you just say; yes i'm moving to france for at least several months. They won't be bothered. And then, when you're in the train, try to put as many things aside in the luggage compartments next to the doors, and above the seats. If not everything fits, try to be smart, give space to others and, since you're the one with most of the luggage, put some of yours in front of the compartments on the floor (without it being a big obstacle to walk around). Oh and label as much as you can.

The water you can drink, it's quality has really improved the past 5 years, so you won't die or even get sick. It's just; do you really hate the taste, and do you have the money to buy bottled water, or don't you. So that's up to you.


I think i have to withdraw my application for the time being. I haven't totally passed my exams, nor totally failed (i dont know an english word for this?) but i have a second chance. Which means, i still have exams, 1 between 9th and 18th august and 2 at 28th august and/or 4th september.

Anyway Natalie, this forum has been dead without your posts so welcome back    Hope you had a good holiday! Don't be nervous, and you can't really practice for the Disney audition to be honest, you either have what their looking for or you haven't.. but suppose a little preparation wont hurt! I'm so excited for you, when is it again?
