Any idea when? We're staying here in the summer don't want any refurbs closing the pool etc as this is why we chose it.

your guess is as good as mine.  The refurb was suggested in a press release but with no dates, scale or concepts.  I am trying and failing to find the release!  I doubt it will be this summer, more likely over winter when there is lower occupancy.

Here's the Euro Disney SCA press release (French only): http://corporate.disneylandparis.fr/COR ... lorers.pdf

About the refurbishments:

Quote
Un réinvestissement important dans les chambres et les parties communes est prévu à court terme
pour permettre à l’établissement de profiter au mieux de l’attrait grandissant de la zone, notamment dans le
cadre du 20e anniversaire de Disneyland Paris.

An important reinvestment in the rooms and communal areas is planned in the short term to allow the establishment to profit from the growing interest in the area, notably from the 20th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris.
I've honestly never heard of Algonquin before in my life and this doesn't make it much clearer. But luckily the name will now simply be "Algonquin Explorers Hotel". Originally of course it was "MyTravel's Explorers Hotel".

Hotel Kyriad is the the only one of these hotels (even including the Val d'Europe Aparthotel and Golf Radisson) not to have changed hands and/or changed names!

Thanks for the info - just seen this thread. I have only stayed in the Explorers once, just after it opened when it was called My Travel Explorers. We got a special deal flying with British Midland.
Hope they don't redesign the rooms as it is one of the few options for larger families in resort.
