yup thats Epcot.

Disney will want the land and so they will have to work on it by 2011. Disney studios was already planned in 1992 i think before it was scrapped for financial resons and then was brought up again.

According to this french goverment agreement though how many parks would disney be getting? Is the 3rd park the last or what?

Well I think it should be Animal Kingdom but the weather might be too cold in the Winter to the animals well if DLRP does do Animal Kingdom then I think they should have these rides and shows:

Festival of the Lion King
Expidion Everest (Might be too instence for younger riders)
DINOSAUR (Might be too instence for younger riders)
Pocahontas le Spectale
It's tough to be a bug (Might be too instence for younger riders)
Tarzan Rocks! (Even tough I hate that show)
Journey into the Jungle Book

That's all I thought about!!!!

Everest may be too intense for younger riders but Disney has to appeal to the whole family, an to a teenager/adult that type of ride is perfect for them.
Besides Everest is quite a good ride.

I definatley like the idea of something new but they could incoperate some familliar rides or attractions as well.

i love WORLD SHOWCASE from EPCOT at least with it you get rides-dining opertunities and places to shop all in one place.

something like DISNEY SEA which is very different to all the other parks would be a good way to go and then in one of the lakes around the park they could put WORLD SHOWCASE in also some sort of stunt show like INDIANA JONES or an up to date one like PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN with sword fighting and other stunts would be good in the park.

That's a quote from the agreement between TWDC and the French government.  It basically says that construction on a major project (theme park) should start before the beginning of January 2011.  If this does not happen, the ground would be sold.
Sorry to bring a dead topic back up raptor, but is this still true ?
Will we have a thrid gate being built within the next 3 years ?

Considering how little money dlrp has made, i think it would make more sense for them to sell the land (which has risen MASSIVELY in value) and use the money to expand and improve the current parks. Which would you prefer;
a) another new park (which would probably be just as dissappointing as WDS was when it opened-
or
b) big new developments in the resort (possibly including new hotel? new lands? new e-tickets?)

i know which one i'd choose (indiana jones? splash mountain? Journey to the centre of the earth?)

Yes but then your talking about dlrp losing some very good land for a future 3rd gate or hotels. Plus anything could be built there if they did sell it.

They're making TONS and TONS of money since '92.  Only issues are the debts since the resort was constructed.

[-X  They can't just sell the land... Euro Disney SCA has to stick to the agreement with the French government which calls for the investment of a large attraction or park that will attract millions of guests additionally.  (translated literally from the agreement).

Why?  Don't you think they would have learned their lesson by now with DCA and WDS?

But wasn't the agreement was for a third gate by 2017 OR be forced to sell the land? If they just wait until 2017, then sell when they are made to they could pocket a lot of money. (if those are the terms of the agreement)

i can understand all the reasons why selling would be a bad idea- and it would kind of ruin the atmosphere if you had a massive building towering over fantasyland for example. but are they even expecting to be able to be able to start construction by 2011 considering how far behind schedule they were with the opening of WDS?

And considering that they still haven't cleared the debts they made 16 years ago; making that debt even bigger would be risky. - mind you, more parks equals more visitors & hotel guests. An important thing to work out would be if WDS has paid for itself yet (or how close is it to doing so)- that would show whether or not another gate would be a good investment.

but thats all boring businessy stuff anyway- and as we all know, sound business practice kind of goes out the window when it comes to disney, so they probably will just go for it anyway.  :D

No, the French government would take the land and sell it to a third party.

I think I agree with you. It is OK how it is and maybe they should expand the Walt Disney Studios more before they think about building a new one, although the plans for Westcot do look great.

Besides... If Disney won't build a third park, the government will take the land and sell it. Even a competitor could build there (unless they made a deal about that).
