Thanks for the info.

I can see why they would cancel the Tuesday train, we came home on a Tuesday last time we went and the train was practically empty.

Epcot_Boy

If my memory serves me right it used to be like that in days gone by and I was suprised when they went to 7 days a week. However I would expect it to return to full service during the summer season if not earlier :)

QuoteEurostar cuts back direct Disneyland Paris services

It's the best way to get to Disneyland Paris from the UK, but Eurostar will be cutting back direct services to the resort from the new year, citing decreased demand and passenger numbers.

From 5th January 2010, the direct morning service from London St Pancras International and Ashford International will no longer run on Tuesdays or Saturdays except during school holidays, industry journal Travel Weekly has reported.

Eurostar blames the impending cut-back on the need to cut costs due to the recession.

Well, it could be worse. It's admirable that there still is a direct service, all things considered. Thalys pulled out entirely. If only it weren't so darn expensive compared to the alternatives, and that goes for all of Eurostar's routes. I'd much rather see everyone take the Eurostar than fly devil-incarnate Ryanair and similar.

for us here in Sussex its the cheapest method to get to the resort if we book in advance its only £27.50 each way from Ashford - love it!!!

Using the trains a lot to get upto London (from Sussex) most weekends and some evenings, I don't really find Eurostar that expensive... it costs me over £12 to nip upto London and back on a weekday, yet only £59 to go abroad directly to a holiday location and back (and of course Eurostar trains are more comfortable and have better onboard facilities than SouthEastern / Southern ones, along with the advantage of a booked seat and luggage space).

QuotePassengers trapped on Eurostar trains relive ordeal

Passengers trapped on board broken-down Eurostar trains for up to 16 hours have been talking about their ordeals.
More than 2,000 people were trapped inside the Channel Tunnel for hours after five trains suffered electrical failure due to freezing conditions.
Some trains were evacuated while other passengers were kept on board, many without food and water. One passenger said it was a "complete nightmare".

Eurostar has apologised and cancelled all its services for Saturday

Many passengers have had complicated and gruelling journeys, and some have still not been allowed to disembark.
Some have been stuck on a train for up to seven hours in sidings in Folkestone.

Related to DLP;

QuoteLee Godfree, a passenger evacuated from one of the stranded trains, said he and his family had arrived in Folkestone at 0500 GMT, having left Disneyland Paris at 1837 GMT.

He said their journey had been a "complete nightmare".
"We were without power. We ran out of water, we ran out of food and there was very, very poor communication from the staff," he told the BBC.
"We lost air conditioning when we lost the power. We had to open the emergency doors ourselves.
"The evacuation procedure we followed was one that we set down ourselves."

Not very good for the company, but its not there fault there was an electric failure.

Ooh that's not good for their reputation. It doesn't help that the first person the BBC interviewed was some chimney sweep going "we was trea'ed like animals we was."

This is exactly the sort of claustrophobic nightmare scenario that keeps people from taking the Eurostar.

All Eurostar trains are cancelled today due to "adverse weather conditions in northern france".

The snow caused 4 trains to brake down in the channel tunnel due to the sudden temperature change from cold france to the humid tunnel.

We experienced the cancellations the hard way as we were meant to be travelling to DLRP today by eurostar. We arrived in London by the East Coast Trains (which were running fine) and we waited in St Pancras Intl for about 1:30 hours before being told all trains are cancelled today. We have now had to cancel our DLRP Holiday

Everyone affected by the cancellations can get a refund up to 2 months from today.
Trains also may be affected on Sunday and Monday

It does not surprise me at all. Just going the 60 miles into St Pancras yesterday morning took 4 hours because of the ice and snow, with frozen doors, not heating and power failures on First Capital Connect. Kent was even harder hit than we were, not great, but not really their fault either. We rarely get these sorts of weather conditions. Investing in upgrading infrastructure to cope would be an increase on prices, for something that only happens a handful of days a year.
since 2001 (many before that)

It must have been awful for those stranded on the trains all night etc. As others have said though it's not really the Eurostars fault for what happened and I doubt it will put most people off traveling with them. In bad weather these things can happen. However I do think staff should let people know what is happening and that's where a failure on theif behalf needs to be sorted. In most cases like this the passengers would at least be satisfied or passified to be told what was happening and what to expect but to not know makes these situations worse. Communications is key in incidents like this!
