It looks really brilliant. The darker blue also seems to make the grass look greener, with the old scheme looking dry and faded in comparison.

What's left now? The roof with the oval window, the golden snail turrets, the previosuly stripy turret still with its primer on - anything else? Its coming on excellantly.

Maybe the front will be done by the end of this month. It's seeming more likely that the rest of the months are going into the back.

Found this photo on the site below. Think it was taken yesterday. Really is looking good now without the scaffolding :)

looks good!

also I´m a bit sad that they used this fast aging white again instead of the more natural look of the 1992 castle.

If they, for once, keep maintaining the looks of the castle every year (and don't wait for it to look realy bad), it's not a problem. Unfortunately the refurb cicle in DLP is one where they wait till everything falls apart, almost litteraly. Hopefully they got a wake up call. Looks already stunning!

Is the central roof above the lower rose window not still to get painted blue? I hope so.

It looks even more gorgeous. :) They just need to paint one of the lower roofs and then it will be perfect

I'm just itching to say this, and I feel bad about it, haha.

I like it much better than the 1998 version, but it's still a sugar cake. The 1992 version looked realistic in a fantastical sort of way, like the materials were truly copper and stone. This looks like Wilton-brand cake icing. By no stretch of the imagination would a medieval anything be this blue, not even in an Eyvind Earle painting.

But compared to the most recent incarnation, it's a huge improvement.
