They're either finished painting the walls or they needed to remove the tarp because they need daylight so that they can see if there are any finishing touches to be done.

BTW, there was also a picture on @InsideDLParis that gives you a better view. :) http://twitpic.com/4qhb03 If you look at the full-sized version of the pic, the bricks look smashing!

We are visiting DLRP for the first time on the 9th June for 5 nights. Does anyone know if the scaffolding will be down by then?

Is the scaffolding up the whole way round the castle, e.g. have they left any angle open for a photo?

It's possible that the scaffolding will be down when you visit, but the work won't be complete. However, it does seem as though they're about to remove the scaffolding from the front, because they removed the tarp recently. :)

...!

I can't even think of an adjective to sum it up. The bricks are perfect, and just seeing it all together like this is amazing.

On to the towers, now!

That blue sure is striking. The two biggest turrets used to be the demurest shade of blue, practically grey:

Wow. Very nice. I take it they've applied some sort of "ageing" to the paintwork? It doesn't look as striking as when they first painted the tower.

Just thought I'd offer an altered version of the picture of the model - I've stretched it into its proper shape. It might give a better impression of the final result.

A magnificent sight and a magical refurbishment so far... It looks absolutely stunning - a sight almost worth my trip in July alone.
