I think that they are the doors that open but i'm not too sure, they look very much like it and there i think in the same place the doors are on the California tower.

Yes that´s one of the elevator shafts with the doors that open

The tower is getting old and older. You can see it on the pics from dlrp.fr, cracks on the tower!

First pic shows the cracks, the second the hole tower and the third the new balcony-elements.

Details, details, details! The cracks make it look quite creepy already. I can't wait to see the Tower finished together with the Hollywood facades surrounding it.

The Details are amazing, its a shame when the outsides done we wont be able to get a glimpse of the details inside, until it opens .

Unless someone has any backstage friends and there kind enough to let them in the tower !

A soft opening is when an attraction is ready before the official opening dates, and they need to test it with riders and train the cast. The ride is therefore open, but there are no guarentees for how long, it may break down, or be closed due to staff training regimes. They are great though as they give a wonderful sneak peak of the attraction.

Official opening is something around January 10th, but the pre-opening will run from December 22nd.

And here's some more news about the attraction's backstory:

The episode goes about a group of visitors that explore the ruins of a Hollywood hotel, abandoned after a horrible incident. After discovering what happened to the 5 remain hotel guests, the visitors find themselves stuck... in the Twilight Zone!

To shoot this lost episode, Imagineers recreated an exact copy of the hotel and are now casting the principal actors, namely... the visitors!

This story however will not be actually used during the pre-show, as it will be exactly the same as the one in the US-parks.
