Given the sheer amount of refurbs taking place around the park, are they keeping the Storybook Land open this winter?

stifle

Yes although only during daylight hours.

This makes me happy, I go in the winter so usually miss it!

Just to add I loved being able to go on this and Casey Junior after usually missing them due to winter closures. I do wonder how many think the Peter and the Wolf section is Frozen?  :P

Does anyone know if this holds true for Winter 2017 as well? I don't see it as a closure on the official site, I hope it stays open! We've never been, it's always been closed. This time we will be visiting with a little one & it would be perfect.

The Anaheim California Disneyland has already added Frozen to the Storybook boats...  ::) :P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWzGN0Bezz8

Watching that video - their Casey Junior is MUCH slower than ours, and I'm not sure whether I like there being an announcer on the boat or not - "our" boatride seems more peaceful.

The ride was nice because it seemed like you were on it longer but I do prefer DLP it is a much more relaxed ride not having to listen to commentary  plus you have little characters alongside some of the houses in DLP. Casey Junior was way to calm haha

Casey Junior is quite horrible in Anaheim - it has a very smelly diesel engine that chucks it fumes over all the passengers.

Never quite understood why the have cast members on their boats either.

Hmm a smelly diesel Casey Junior doesn't sound great - strange they haven't updated it to whatever the DLP version is (electric?) - and from that video at least it looks quite tame, not really a kiddy coaster, more a slow, noisy, smelly train ride. Argh, what a pity.

Glad its not only me who feels the cast member talking seems out of place - not like "Jungle Cruise" where the cheesey jokes and overenthusiasm are part of the fun... also personally I think that "our" tunnel of the Cave of Wonders is cooler than the Pinocchio whale - kinda looks scary, and like you end up exitting out the wrong end, if you know what I mean  :-[ :-X :-\

That said, tbh I have no real objection to new films being added to Storybook land periodically - as long as they are based on classic books and tales, and the detail in the Arrandale models is cool - I like the fact they have the trading outpost shop and the ship in the harbour.  8)
