Well we were travelling to DLP via the tunnel at the end of November but now after hearing all of the delays on the news a the moment I'm thinking that we may be better to fly, now I know I'm not going to get the flights for less than £100 but I also don't want to pay through the nose! We live in Manchester but I'm not aversed to travelling to an airport a couple of hours drive away!

Can anyone recommend where to fly from and who with.. I've found some flights going from Birmingham on 27.11 with air France for £342 with no baggage, is this the best I'm going to get??

Help please as what I spend on flights will obviously come out of our spending whilst in the park :-( x

Hi Vicky, if you go to google and search for skyscanner, they will organise the cheapest flights with the cheapest airline from the cheapest UK airport. Hope this helps xx

ok using www.skcanner.com
27 November 2015
Air France AF1069  Depart Manchester 14.25 arrive Charles De Gaulle 16.45

3 December 2015
Air France  10 68 Depart Charles De Gaulle 12.55 arrive Manchester 13.20

Price checked for 1 adult €180 / £133

Thats just me checking random dates from Manchester for 1 person. You will need to search for your exact dates and amount of people. I would have tabs open for each airport you check, ie, flights from / to Manchester in one tab, flights from / to Birmingham in another tab etc etc that way you can easily compare the prices and flight departure and arrival times

Try Easyjet from Liverpool, x

Vicky7260

Thank you for the responses ladies & gents, I've looked on sky scanner but it doesn't do all airports & airlines :-( cheapest I've found so far is air France out & flybe back ( both operated by either air France or flybe) to Birmingham airport this is coming in about £400 less than Manchester. I'll try Liverpool now thanks for that.

Remember to factor in the cost and timings for the return airport transfer.

I have used http://magicalshuttle.co.uk/ approx 1 hour travel time between Charles De Gaulle and Disney. I have booked both online and with a travel agent and never had any problems. Adult is €20 and child €16 per person per trip

This year I am also going to check out the TGV from Charles De Gaulle to Marne Le Valle (Disney) http://uk.voyages-sncf.com/en/ travel time is approx 10 minutes!!

TGV although quicker is non tranferrable. If your flight is delayed and you miss it then you will not be allowed to travel on a later train without paying again...this will be "at station prices" so may be much higher. Magic shuttle you buy your ticket and jump on the soonest one, just check your arrival time as they dont run late late. Not wanting to sound picky but are you sure you want to go to all this extra expense and bother when there might not be any delay on the tunnel...there are delays at airports too :-[

I know what your saying slimy yet satisfying, I still debating what to do for the best! The joy of taking my own car is I can fill it with Christmas cheer and save pennies on the flights, I'm just worried about the migrant problem at the min! x

Slimy yet satisfying

I understand the dilemma
But....
£400 ish for flights with limited luggage and probably not great times at this late stage
€40 return for however many adults plus €32 for each child return on magic shuttle
£40 for airport parking
Buying park snacks and drinks cos you cant bring your own
In my mind tha mounts up to a lot of money not available for Christmas cheer for a delay that might not even happen!
Your choice tho

I know. The original plan was to leave late on the Thursday evening, drive to Folkestone ( about 3.5-4 hours) stay in a travel lodge overnight and then get on the early 6-7am tunnel. Then drive to the hotel & hit the park in the afternoon, doing the reverse on the return on Sunday. We are only going for 3 days this trip but am planning  on longer in Feb 1/2 term and or Easter too!

Obviously this depends on what may happen in the future - but I honestly have not had any trouble travelling via the tunnel. Family members have also used it and theres been no issues whatsoever. Even ferries haven't been an issue. We too thought it would be horrific but its clear the media have been exaggerating the situation.

Another idea might be to wait to nearer the time? I could get flights from Manchester for £100 with two weeks to go.
