There are now some brand new Halloween Festival adverts, which will be used mainly around the Paris area between now and October 31st.  They use a Frontierland-style design to show the battle between the Pink Witches and Pumpkinmen, and are bright and interesting enough for people to notice them whilst also putting across the "battle" storyline in just a few words - "who will have the last word?  you decide!"

Here's the first one:

Unfortunately I can't be quite so enthusiastic about the second one.  Not only can you really notice the seriously bad Photoshop job, but you can also see too clearly just how cheap the Pumpkinman's costume head is.  Oh, and the Pink Witch really ought to use some of her magic to fix her nose...

It's also interesting that these adverts show a totally different image of the Pink Witch.  She's brighter and cheaper-looking... I think this will be how the live performers during the season will look.  It's a shame really, because even though the Witches in the first visuals weren't quite so obviously "pink", they did look more professional and high-quality.

What does everyone else think of these ads?  Or the decorations as a whole?

There's just one day to go before the season begins, and http://www.dlrp.fr has a full tour of the decorations for this year's season, including photos of some new decorations which have appeared over the last couple of days:

I'll try keep my opinions short here, so I'll just say that Orange County looks a million times better without the Lights of Winter and that I'm beginning to really like the Pink Witches.  :D  I just wish I could be there...  :(

ps: They have Pirate Pumpkinmen!

Is it me, or does this season every year get better, this year wow so fantastic to see the pink witches are making a very cool quality effort in Frontierland, also I think Main Street without the lights of winter is looking quite nice, although the merchandise nice halloween stuff, but since when did Tokyo Pumpkin Mickey hit Paris

Halloween begins today!!

But the Disney Villain Parade actually began yesterday, with a rehearsal run.  Take a look here: http://disneymec.skyblog.com/index.html

I really like the Pink Witches costumes, they mix really well with the Pumpkinmen and have totally changed my opinion about this new part of this year's festival.  I really like all the Pink Witches now - except for the European witches (which have now been removed because kids climbed on them) and the cardboard cut-outs.

Well that's weird did the pink witches cast a spell to rid of the fun cool giant inflatable pumpkin now  .  Well that seems like a downer, considering it's always fun to watch, I even remember last year an annoying woman in front of me waving to the guy inside, yeah like he can wave back  .

There were A LOT of Pink Witches in the parade on saturday (press event day...).  Each float was terrorised by 5 or so, while on sunday, there were like 5 in the whole parade...

LOL, not sure about your counting skills Kristof. I saw just a few more than 5 lol, but there were less. Also they replaced the witch on the pumpkinmen float with someone dressed as a "pumpkinman helper" with a pumpkin hat on. Another pumpkinman was also lost on the float though lol.
Grab a balloon, come on let\'s go!

Maybe I'm getting a bit ahead here, but next year Halloween will run from October 7th to November 5th!  That's a bit odd, don't you think?

It doesn't seem right to continue the festival after October 31st, and why is it starting a week late?  Maybe it's something to do with the dates of schools' October half-term holidays?

Can I point your mind back to pre 2004 era, the Halloween festival used to run till November, maybe this is a deploy so therefore the construction cast members have enough time to place up the Chandilliars, maybe they don't want them to be up too early, due to maybe some confusion this year from guests :?: .  Also late start, maybe they want to run it mostly for a whole 30 days, mostly a whole month and not a month and a week, that's just my thought, although maybe we are in for a surprise like a new character like the white ghostmen  , although I highly doubt it, though they could be placing more preminant pink witch decor on say Main Street, since the story does seem to expand every year. :D

Halloween Party Night stuff is starting to appear!  :D

Here's a great video of the Light & Sound Spectacular, from http://www.dlrp.fr:

Low quality (41Mb) : http://www.dlrp.fr/videos/halloween/sonetlumieres.wmv

High quality (102Mb) : http://www.dlrp.fr/videos/halloween/sonetlumieres.mpg

So there you go - they DID use fireworks!  And LOADS of them!  More than Wishes infact, though I suppose this show did only run for 2 nights.  Overall it's a nice show, and whilst I hate to criticise, the 3D projections look quite dodgy and the music is awful - "Wishes"?  "Atlantis"?  It just doesn't fit very well in my opinion.  Not even an awesome section of Nightmare Before Christmas music can save it!
