Hi I just booked a trip to DLP and I was told that phantomy manor will be closed from January untill March

Does any one know what is going on  ? It seems a bit lengthy for general maintenance

It's longer than just January to March. As far as I'm aware Phantom Manor is scheduled to go down until at least September.

Nobody really knows what's going on. It definitely has me worried though! Phantom Manor is my favourite ride and I really don't want them to change too much about it.

I think the attraction is in dire need of a good overhaul, technically as well as entertainmentwise. There are a lot of new techniques that can be incorporated since this attraction has not had any major changes since it opened in 1992.

It's undergoing a massive refurb in a similar way that BtM and PotC have already have. Things will be polished and fixed and new effects will be added. This is going to take approximately 9 months - it's due to reopen September but there's no exact date yet. What they're exactly doing has been kept quiet but people are speculating we may get a version of the Hat Box ghost and Tony Baxter thinks everyone will be very impressed by what they do.

Star Wars overlay?

Have Obi-wan popup at the saloon. "hello there". or Yoda sitting on a gravestone. Or not!

I absolutly love this ride but I am torn between loving the origional storyline at the moment....

And hoping theyre having a complete overhall, adapting it to TNBC, similar to what callifornia do at Halloween. Paris is one of the only park that has Jack throught the year (summer months included) so it would make sense for them. Plus they have so much more merchandise in Europe compared to the US parks.

I love that the rides do have their origional storylines and was a bit gutted when they added Mr Depp to POTC but keeping with the new trend of the rides all reflecting existing fimls, it could happen.

Why do refurbs have to involve it being changed from what it is?  Adding jack sparrow isn't a big thing for POTC because to Europeans that's is POTC. Changing phantom manor to something else that's different. Updating it with the latest technology would make sense as it does need it but not changing it, Jack Skellington doesn't fit in there. I'm hoping it stays the same, add things to the parks not changing existing rides etc that are popular all the time.

Thanks for letting me know, i wasn't aware that phantom manor was apart of the enhancement plan, its great that its getting some treatment but i'm gutted that it will be closed when i go
When i rang they really made it seem like it would only be closed until the end of March, is that completely unrealistic on their behalf and it will definitely be September when it opens ?

Burmah

I just read on ED92 that the main focus is the facade of the manor, adding Mélanie to the stairway on the part of embarking, updating the audio animatronics, updating the ballroom scene and much more. I hope they use something like the hatbox ghost effect for madam Leota because for the moment the effect looks kind of cheap. Of course with Disneyland Paris you never know, but I hope they don't change our one of a kind manor.

Yeah it's definitely closed until September. Three months will be far too short to do such a big job.
