Have been to dlrp 12 times but never stayed in newportbay 'just wandering what the food is like in cape cod restaurant as my family and I are not big fish eaters .am going to dlrp in April  :) :) :)

We stayed at Newport Bay in September and were hoping to eat at Yacht Club, which was sadly closed so we decided to try Cape Cod.

I'm not a fish eater at all and I had a lovely meal! Starters are basically salad and soup (but the soup was lovely) and there was a wide range of mains, from meats to fish to pasta. I remember having some really nice veggie ravioli, duck leg and meatballs and rice.

Pudding let it down a little, a little too much cream for us!

Hi. I ate at Cape Cod on Friday 13th January. Here is what was on offer then:

Starters:
Two types of soup, a salad bar, vegetable & fish mousses/terrines, cold fish options (herring, tuna flakes, whelks, crab sticks, prawns, etc)

Main Courses: Sea bream, salmon in fennel sauce, a whole fish in a crust that is carved for you,  lamb stew, a turkey dish, saffron rice, broccoli, pasta and potato gratin.

Children's Food:  Meatballs, chicken nuggets, lattice fries, fish nuggets and a pasta station.

Desserts: Jelly, floating islands (soft meringue in a crème Anglais - a popular Disney buffet restaurant favourite), chocolate hazelnut mousse, chocolate cake, the mysterious "pudding", sweets and fruit. Plus four types of cheese and a crepe station.

It was very nice. I've just booked a table there again for Thursday 2nd March 2017.

I liked the food but I was expecting a bigger range of fish dishes as its an 'Oceany' sort of hotel, that's my fault for not doing enough research though. Food was ace - especially the tiny crème brulee  :D
