Last years stay with our 2 year old at the SL was great but this year we are torn between the New York and the Newport hotels.
We passed the New York each day and like the fact that it was closer to the park.
The Newport has just had a face lift but is it as close as the New York?

Thoughts pretty please

Never stayed at any of those hotels so I can't help you with that. But the new port bay is definitely further away then the new York. It is located at the other side of Lake disney.  So if you want to be really close to the park I would recommend the new york. The new port bay is even further away than the sequia lodge.

Personally I prefer the styling of NBC over HNY. Although the latter was still very nice to stay in (although it's hasn't had its refurb yet so might be looking slightly more tired than the others).

However as already mentioned the NBC is further away than even SL when you're considering walking distance (it's probably not that much closer the Cheyenne when you consider having to walk around the lake). Also the NBC itself is enormous so depending on where your room is it can be quite a trek even getting outside.

Have you considered staying in SL again but going for one of the Golden Forrest rooms with their perks?

We are staying again this yr in the NBC it's not far from the park - about the same as SL, one plus is that the security check point on that side of the lake is only really used by NPB which meant absolutely no queuing for security (in August!!) We did consider the NY but it's due a refurb and NPB has just had there's!

We have stayed at both the New York and Newport bay club, I would say it depends how far inside the hotel from the lobby. When we stayed at the New York it felt like we doubled back on ourselves so seem further to what we walked to the Cheyenne.
Newport bay is further but is a nice walk plus the queue for the scanner/X-ray is shorter to compared to the one next to the New York.

The New York is completely closing for an extensive refit soon, so check when and that may make the decision for you.

We have stayed in both but not the New port bay after refurb. We really like both. As already said New York is that bit closer which is great at the end of the day. But I would say new port bay is as close as sequoia as you can go round the lake not past sequoia. New York is great we like it because it's cosy and that little a lot smaller than the new port bay. But I hear the new refurbished new port bay does sound nice.

We've stayed in both, I would rate Newport Bay over the New York any day.  The New York is tatty and in major need of an overhaul.  yes, it's a further walk, nut it's a nice walk :)
We're trying the SL this year.

We stayed in Newport Bay last July and we've just booked for June this year - I was having the same dilemma as you but we've settled on the Newport Bay again due to it being more modern inside.

I believe the New York was due a refurb but this was delayed as they chose to do the Cheyenne instead.

We also considered the Disneyland Paris Hotel but the fact that's so dated inside put us off staying there too.
