We're going to be staying at the Cheyenne next month and gather that we will be unlikely to be able to get a ticket for an early breakfast on the first morning. Does anyone know how we would go about getting breakfast at Plaza Gardens or at the Disneyland Hotel instead.

Plaza Gardens is used basically as an overflow breakfast when the hotels are busy. To have breakfast at the Plaza you ask at check in, the same way you would for a normal breakfast voucher. If they are using the Plaza during your visit, you will be given a voucher with a timeslot, just the same as you would for the hotel. The Plaza is not always open for breakfast, it might be a different restaurant or they might not have the breakfast in the park option during your visit.

For Disneyland Hotel, you would have to pay, I know the prices went up last year, I think it is around €35 per adult for breakfast. The Disneyland Hotel breakfast is only "free" for those staying at the Disneyland hotel. It is not covered on the breakfast voucher of the other hotels

We had breakfast at the Plaza Gardens in Feb this year. We went in the park early and had breakfast later. Was not overcrowded like breakfast can be in the hotels.
When we checked in we asked could we have breakfast in the park. It was not available everyday of our stay.
It makes a pleasant change to the sometimes manic breakfasts that we've had in the past.

And do you have to pay for breakfast in Plaza Gardens?

Not if you staying in one of the Disney Hotels. Instead of getting a breakfast voucher for your hotel you get given one for Plaza Gardens instead, but you need to ask when booking into your hotel. If they are available they will ask what time you would like it for. When we went in Feb we went in the park early and had breakfast around 9.00am. It was lovely nowhere near as busy as the hotel.

Thanks for the reply, andlorna!
Then, when free and in the price of the hotel breakfast, we must surely try it at least once next time.

Thanks everyone. :) DLH seems a bit pricey :o, not going to blow 100 euros on some bread, fruit and juice no matter how nice the surroundings! We will ask about plaza gardens on check in. If we can get in and do the earlier bit of EMH, then get breakfast before hitting frontierland as it opens that sounds like a plan!

The breakfast at DLH is far superior to the breakfasts at any of the other hotels, but is no way worth what they charge.

They artificially inflated the price last year to put off non hotel staying guests (and non park users) from using it.

I'd agree the breakfast is superior  :) but still I wouldn't pay that, it's not a lot more to have dinner there with characters than that!
I guess I can see why they've done it, a stay at the DLH costs a bomb and if they were getting over crowded with non hotel guests I guess it can take some away from the experience.

That's also why they stopped doing the meet and greet with characters in the DLH.
Locals would get the train to DLP, go to the hotel for the meet and greet, take a few photos and then go home. All for free.

They could have solved that by making people show their hotel easy pass at meet and greets though.
No easy pass, no meeting characters.
That way hotel guests still get to meet characters and the people just showing up because it's an option would stop coming because they can't meet characters anyway :)

That's very cheeky!  ::) some spoil it for the rest of us. There's many loopholes though they've moved characters from hotels into parc to benefit hotel guests but they let some non hotel guests through early wich makes ques for them huge. I know they usualy check your easypass to prove your a hotel guest when you enter fantasyland/discoveryland (they did ours last time) but people where obviously in parc with characters for free at EMH I don't know...  ;)
