I had a fastpass time for 50 minutes after this happened O.o
We were in the queue for Indiana Jones when people were talking about how BTM had just closed, and when we came off and went over to check, sure enough it was shut down.
Then the next day (Friday) they had put boards around it and there were people in suits telling everyone that they had "Technical Issues".
I only just found out it crashed. I'm glad no one was seriously injured like in California.  :(

I'm confused, BTM opened today but will be closed again tomorrow (1st) until 14th November, I thought the closure was related to the derailment as it wasn't announced on the schedule until today. To re-open and close again doesn't make much sense??

What I don't understand is, how exactly did it derail? Roller coaster trains have so many wheels on them (upstops); they're literally bolted to the track. Did something break, snap or come loose?

Knowing that Big Thunder Mountain can suddenly derail doesn't give me much confidence in riding it in the future. I know these things are rare, but there's nothing particularly fun about being harnessed/trapped in a roller coaster car, that can suddenly leave the track!

It almost looks like one wheel might have snapped off. I can only see one wheel on that car
