The Lion King and Jungle Festival: 30th June to 22nd September 2019

The line-up of shows and events for this new summer festival have been confirmed:

❇️ The Lion King and Jungle shows and summer festival details confirmed on DLP Today

  • The Jungle Book Jive
Explorer Mickey travels through four worlds - is it a show, a parade, or both?

  • Timon's "MataDance"
That's a Hakuna MataDance to you - street dance party with Timon and friends

  • Djembe Joy Village
The ever-popular Djembe Academy drummers finally get a festival billing

How does that sound?

Anyone who remembers my original username on these forums will know how I feel about anything to do with the (animated) Jungle Book at least...  ;)

A new TV ad launched this week with some pretty good production:

I hope that guy doesn't block our view for the shows. ;)

Disneyland Paris recently hosted a live "making of" special about The Lion King and Jungle Festival.

There's a good look at the floats and creations for the Jungle Book Jive show/parade (which is looking more impressive than expected) around the 20 minute mark, but other than that I must admit I did a lot of skim-watching... did I miss anything?  :-X

I'm really looking forward to this, I'll admit Lion King was never one of my favourite films but the new stage show does look promising... plus a proper new stage!!

Unfortunately we'll only get to see it on the runDisney weekend, hope we manage to see everything despite huge crowds!

Wish I could make the time but I already had something booked. Perhaps they will repeat next year...although I think Frozen 2 will feature heavily....for ever and ever and ever!

I've read somewhere that there will be a Frozen show over Christmas (don't know if it will be a new one or the same sing-along we've had in the past), it would make sense with the movie coming out in November

If it's a success I'd be surprised if they don't repeat it again next summer, most seasonal programs have been done at least twice...

Possibly but they do already have the Frozen experience going into the old Art of Animation building where you'll meet the characters and they'll perform etc so I wonder if have the theatre show might be overkill as well?

Maybe yet another new home for Mickey's Big Band?

All looks fab! Now torn between letting the children watch the promos before we go or waiting until we get back...

Do you have any tips on how to get the most out of it?

What is the best place to watch the jungle book jive?
How long  before should we wait at my spot for the jungle book jive?
How long before should we stand in line for the liong king show?

If you only watch Jungle Book Jive once then the best place is the front left hand stage in central plaza, facing the castle. I really would recommend seeing it at least five times - once at each stage and once standing around the edge of the plaza. When I was there in early July we didn't need to be there too far in advance to get a great spot especially at the first show of the day. Maybe 20 minutes or so.

The Lion King show is a different matter. We were there 45 minutes early and were about mid way in the queue. The show can and does completely fill up on a regular basis so make sure you get there in plenty of time.

Thanks you so much. We followed your recommendations and went to the front left hand stage and wow!!! What a amazing show and what an amazing spot. We ended up seeing it 3 times in 2 days. We also stood at the back left stage (facing the castle) and around the edge of central plaza.

Glad you enjoyed it! I do think it's one of the best shows Disney's ever produced and I'm not surprised it's returning next year.

One thing they do seem to get right more often than not at the moment is entertainment and music.
