I think it's really nice that the old MGM Route 66 Café project is sort of finally coming to life here. Take a look at the concept - looks a bit like the Cars Race Rally queue buildings, don't you think?

The brick wall we reported being built back in October was later given an extra layer of wire mesh and themed to a sandy desert rockface in a similar way to the rocks at Crush's Coaster. Grandmath from Disney Central Plaza forum presents the first photos, which show not only how this red colour scheme bounces well off the blue of Crush, but also a large new block of formed concrete next to the attraction. The purpose of this is currently unknown and it does not appear on any plans. Therefore, it is likely to also be a part of the themeing work, perhaps as the base foundation for the further, much higher, canyon hills to be placed on this spot.

But seriously, that looks great. I hate to constantly be heaping praise on everything to do with Toon Studio, but shrinking down a massive desert rock to such a small size could have looked stupid. As it is, it looks pretty good. Apparently they're the same people who did parts of Le Pays des Contes de Fées, so it's in good hands...

Great that it's a conifer so it won't look nasty in winter like the rest of the park's trees, but... it doesn't quite fit with the forced perspective of the rock. Oh well. :lol:

the black thingy is not the road, it is a flowers or trees ' bed (massif).
