If you look at this old aerial photo, you can see that the Walt Disney Studios Park was previously just fields. Not sure what those markings/tracks are though:

Do you know when this aerial photo was taken? When did Disney start to build Val d'Europe and WDS? When I've been to DLRP in 2000 there was already construction going on for WDS.

Dlp.info had a great site about the construction of WDS before the revamp of their site. Sadly it is gone.

WDS was green lit and began construction in 1999. Val d'Europe I'm not sure of the exact date, but the RER station and shopping centre opened October 2001, so perhaps late 1998. A very busy period of construction for the resort, with the 5 partner hotels opening soon after in 2003-2005.

Thanks for the great pictures and video. The Studios 1, 2 and 3 look so much bigger without the yellow colour.

The construction of RnRC must have been in summer 2000. I have also taken a picture of RnRC out of the RER, but at this time I didn't really know what they were building there. Unfortunately the picture didn't turn out well.

And the Special Effects Tour didn't come into reality, that's now the Backlot Express/Blockbuster Cafe and the Restaurant des Stars.
