Quote10/5: Ed Grier, Disneyland Resort President resigned today with the obligatory e-mail mentioning "growth and change in my own family." Almost like clockwork, the average 3 year term of the past four Disneyland presidents expired for Ed this month, 3 years after he arrived. Mostly unseen/unheard for the majority of Anaheim Cast Members, this news isn't providing as much sorrow as when Matt Ouimet left in '06. A replacement is yet to be announced. I'm sure he'll be remembered... :?

So he was always going to go around now anyway, especially as Disneyland managers only last 3 years.
Mr Grier did nothing wrong that I can remember, probably his most controversial moment was IASW.

I wonder who will replace him, probably someone fairly unknown to casual observers.

And as rumoured, it's DLP's very own George Kalogridis who replaces him!

George Kalogridis has been Chief Operating Officer at Disneyland Paris since 2006, replacing Karl Holz when Holz was promoted to CEO. His time in Paris has seemed to coincide with a LOT of improvements in the operations side of things, so hopefully they've got a replacement lined up who knows Disneyland just as well, if not more.

Exclusive video interview on the Disney Parks Blog: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2 ... nd-resort/

He seems nice, if a bit shifty in front of the camera.

Thanks for that info Anthony..    :D

I often wonder why presidents have a rule of thumb of lasting just 3 years on average, in a lot of industries it seems a life time. I would of thought that as a president it should be more of a passion for Disney and passion lasts..  :?

It's rather like Walt creating it, then walking away from it after so long, it just wouldn't do..    :o
