Closed Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Warning
September 21st, 2009 by Andy de Maertelaere
The Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at the Walt Disney Studios is a favourite attraction of many guests. Closing the roller coaster for rehab might disappoint many first time, as well as returning visitors. Disney has therefore put a warning note into place at the parks entrance as well as the ticket machines. Like this visitors can decide to change their Studios visit to another day and hop over to the Disneyland Park.

While many guest will be able to park hop from one gate to the other, those visiting only for the day could change their plans without having to enter the park first to encounter the disserted backlot area. The Studios has enough alternative rides, like the Tower of Terror or the Crush's Coaster, but it's still a nice gesture to warn those that didn't know about it prior to their visit.

The note reads: Dear Guests, We would like to inform you that "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster in Backlot will close from 14 to 25 September 2009 inclusive. Please take this information into consideration when organising your visit. Thank you and have a wonderful day at Disneyland Paris.

Wonders never cease   =D>

Yeah, nice. But notifying of staggered opening times would also be nice, and probably more welcome when trying to plan out a route. The amount of times we passed by rides that weren't open for another 1/2 hour, or had just closed was terribe.

They did the same thing when Crush closed to sort out its teething problems back in August 2007, and have done it several times over at Disneyland Park for the long refurbs of Big Thunder (2007) and Space Mountain (2005). Back in the early 2000s I remember seeing announcements of a Small World closure on the LED screens at the parking plaza!

It's strange really, as if you'd stop and get back in your car just because one ride is closed...

Anyway, they should actually post these things on proper notice boards, rather than having these long-winded print-outs stuck on the turnstile booths. There's a notice board at the entrance of DLP with a specific "Closed Attractions" section that seems to go mostly ignored. That (equally unused) main notice board on the hub should also have a section for this, so you can see before you even walk to the gate. It'd be much less work for the CMs having to post these up.

And yeah, I agree with the Dragon. Where were the warnings of all the 6pm attraction closings over summer?
