Quote from: "ed-uk"I just hope the complaints don't come fooding in when fans see the merchandise, like "it's the same old stuff we can buy in the parks."

I'm with you on that one. I'm really looking forward to seeing WoD completed and being able to explore it both inside and out, but I really fear they will fill it with the same old tat that blights most of the other stores at DLP. Fingers crossed [-o<

I don't agree with you on the tat though. I expect the merchandise in the WoD store will be the same as can be found in the parks and the hotel shops, I mean I don't think Disney will sell different merchandise just for the store, but I could be wrong.

I hope you are :)  I can't remember the last time I bought any merchandise apart from the odd calender or Mug, I'm really hoping that WoD will finally blow the moths away from my wallet ;)

I'm guessing it'll sell mostly the same stock as the current Disney Store - pretty much a selection of everything available elsewhere. It isn't a niche or specialist boutique, it's a grand catch-all emporium.

But the good thing is that it should swallow all the general merchandise of Disney Store, Hollywood Pictures and possibly World of Toys, possibly leaving those free for something new... or maybe just Lego :P

And heck whatever it sells, it looks gorgeous!

I'm surprised there's no Buffalo Grill, Courtepaille or La Criée in Disney Village. Those three restaurants seem to crop up again and again all over France, in little retail parks :-)

I may be talking rubbish right now but I'm sure the official DLP twitter account said that WOD would be selling some exclusive items as well.

Exclusive to Disneyland Paris or just WoD store?

I'm not exactly sure, the exact tweet was -

Quote"D-49 before World of Disney's opening! So exciting! It will become the largest store at DLP, with some exclusive merch."

Quote from: "Anthony"So to answer those who didn't understand earlier: yes, this really is worth getting excited about.

I'm full from consuming my large portion of humble pie. The recent exterior photos and now this great photo of the interior have me very excited. I'm not even that bothered about seeing what they sell, though exclusive merchandise is always a bonus, but just from that one photo I'm looking forward to exploring the store and seeing the rest of the decor. I'm also really looking forward to seeing exterior up close and my new quest will be to get a photo of myself in the entrance with nobody else in the shot - that may prove hard.

Dreams, World of Disney, Ratatouille, Star Wars Land - Disneyland Paris is going through a fantastic growth period, and these are just the ones we know about. Add in rumoured Marvel attractions in WDS and I think we'll all need to move over there.

If it's true that they're going to use this architecture style in the rest of the Disney Village, then I can't wait to see what their plans for it are! We're really lucky to have the best looking of these stores in the world!

It is a wonderful looking building, and the interior looks like it'll be a mature and tasteful shop, personally I find the current Disney Store to look and feel really childish, (I think it's the 90's carpet and the planets mobile) so that shows they're serious about changing the Village up.

I do wonder if they change the rest of Village to a similar style, and with the opening of Villages Nature coming soon if they change the name to Downtown Disney to pull it in line with the other areas. Disney Village doesn't really suit this architechture to me?

As for the July opening, and looking at the pictures we've had recently, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw soft openings from late next month.

Lordy, I LOVE Buffalo Grill. I would be a very happy bunny if they opened one here  [-o<

They have said somewhere (I think it was the 20th anniversary book) that they'll be updating the rest of the Village to have a similar architecture.

As for renaming it to Downtown Disney, I'm not sure. "Downtown" isn't in the British or French lexicon, whereas "Village" is widely understood.

I agree with Josh; Downtown just doesn't  sound right for DLP, keep it the Village.

They could name it Town Centre Disney.
