Hi,
Last time i visited DLRP I bought a lanyard and about 12 pins and I really like the pin trading idea.

Can anyone give me any tips on trading with cast members, buying pins, types of pins, keeping pins safe and events etc?

 Any help is much appreciated,
  Thanks,
    Barnsey313.  :donald:

As with any hobby, buy what you like - whether it's characters, events, special editions or whatever.

If you're really going to let your collection grow, get one of the big pin bags from DLRP next time you're there, or through mail order. They are great for storing your pins in and displaying them.

I've never really bothered trading, as I tend to just buy the pins I like, so others can advise you on that.

Check out Ebay, but always set yourself a ceiling if you're bidding on pins. More often than not, pins do resurface, even the limited edition one's, so don't get too carried away with your bidding. (I could do with taking that advice myself!)

And wait as close to the end of an auction as you can before making a bid. Early bids just drive the prices of auctions up, and you only end up having to pay more. Always try to bid in the last 40 seconds.

As Dark_Prince said it really is a hobby, as a keen pin trader myself I do suggest (unless you have a lot of money!) that you specialise in the types of pins. For Example I specialise in DLRP attraction pins.
But you can specialise in characters (or even different types of characters).
Cast Members are very likely to trade with you and they are very friendly and willing to "barter" with you!
also I have experienced CM's asking me to trade pins I always say yes.
Another tip (it differs with the collector) I always take the pins that I like too much to trade off my lanyard and only keep the lanyards that I am willing to trade on.
I hope you enjoy pin trading
