I know there are a lot of lucky forum members who have stayed in the Disneyland Hotel before, which is a dream of mine although I am afraid it is a little bit out of my reach at the moment.
Does anyone know of the best deal they have ever got in recent years for the DLH? I am thinking about when might be the cheapest time to go... I have a dream AP.... so could get the discount....but even then....*sigh* However, it may still be possible if anyone knows the best way to swaggle a good deal?...  ;D

Cheapest time is usually arriving Sun-Thur from about 8 January to about 8 February.

Stifle is right, the time of year really affects the price. I've stayed there twice (very lucky I know) but if we go we book the 2nights free offer months in advance pay deposit and pay it of monthly. There's not really any other ways round it unfortunately or we'd all stay there on every visit of course  :D

It is really a lovely experience to stay at the DLH just not cheap as you know... Always try the other countries websites as you can book through a different offer even if your not in that country. Although you will have to pay full balance from past experience (done this once before)

Hoping your dream comes true!

Thanks guys!! I will look into it and keep dreaming... :-)

I stayed here on my last visit. I had originally booked Hotel New York and then a little pixie dust came my way. Disney phoned me about 3 weeks before my arrival day and upgraded me for free to Disneyland Hotel. I never expected to ever stay there as it is waaay outside my budget.

I just loved every minute of being in the hotel. I had a standard room and I was lucky enough to get one of the rooms with a balcony. I could just about see the Castle and the fireworks from my balcony.

In my 2 days I really did as much as I could in the hotel. I went to the pool, I had a drink in the bar when the park closed. I bought some merchandise in the shop.

Its just all the little extras you really notice
The luggage service - getting your bags brought to your room when you check in and getting them brought to the luggage store when you check out
The nightly turn down service
The live piano playing at the bar area
The perfume in the air which gives the who hotel a very unique feeling
All the little subtle details in the amazing lobby, corridors and lifts
Being sooo near to the park and being able to nip quickly back to the room for forgotten items etc
The hotel fastpass which came in very handy

I'm considering the DLH for next summer - though I'm not decided yet. We had a lake view GF room at SQL which meant we could see the fireworks and was a lovely view.

So I have been lucky enough to stay in DLH on all my Disney trips but one - so probably around 11 times!

Personally I don't find it that crazily expensive - but for me I much prefer quality over quantity, I would rather go once per year in the DLH than more frequently and stay off site.

Timing is a big factor as school holidays hike the price up massively. Also depending if its a family or friends trip you can divide the cost out. I always think its worth it purely for the location and the fact you get premium meal vouchers on certain offers which probably save you more than the extra you pay to go from a 3* to 5*.

I really really am trying to justify it but I cannot seem to get a better price than £472 a night   :o

You's all got me dreaming of a stay in the pink palace :( Went there for our Inventions meal and it's just out of this world beautiful, I felt like a lowly commoner in there haha! I even had to buy something from the hotel shop, and I don't even know why they sell the exact.same.stuff!!  ::)

Even better I'd like the Sleeping Beauty suite or Walt's apartment please ;)

Still holding out hope that there's a leak in my Santa Fe room the day we go and we get upgraded to the only room left which just so happens to be a castle view room in the DLH. Hahaha. A girl can dream.

That is what my kids are hoping for when we go, that the Cheyenne can't take us because of the refurb so they upgrade us haha

daddyof2

Yeah, I'm always hoping for upgrades too :)
The suites at HNY look amazing as well

rebecca20

Suites in HNY were cheaper than standard Castle Club rooms when I checked for November 2016!

They just aren't big enough bed wise for our needs so they'd always be out of the question. I must say I just don't like the look of the HNY as a hotel. Maybe it's because I visit NYC so frequently I just think the hotel looks cheap - like out of all the Disney hotels it would be the last on my wish list ???

I meant the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt suites, did you get prices for those?

rebecca20

I can't remember the specific price but I did they did mention is was cheaper than a park view CC room which was £3600 for 4 nights. It only has a double bed though hence why we didn't even bother looking into it.
