Does anyone know what kind of events are on during end of jan, beginning of feb. I know it's not really in a season or celebration for DLP so just wondering what parades etc. will be on?

Not usually anything special then, just daily Magic on parade and Dreams at closing time. It's as off-peak as you get.

Sometimes they also do some special meet and greets for Valentine's Day, but this definitely doesn't happen every year. There's no telling it will in 2016, but it probably won't be announced 'till much nearer to the date.
