Hello everyone,

According to rumours, Disneyland Paris CEO, Philippe Gas,  will complete his terms near September.

I quite liked him. I thought he did an OK job while he's been there. It's under him that we had the extensive refurbishment programme and he finally got the banks' approval for the Ratatouille ride. ... But I don't know. Was he a good or bad CEO?

Looking at the numbers, park finances have been pretty much at a standstill during his time as CEO. The number of guests dropped in 2010 and returned back to earlier levels in 2011. Spending per guest has grown slightly, but it's in line with general inflation. Profits (actually losses) have been pretty much unchanging.

It doesn't look like he's made things worse, but he hasn't driven growth, either. And Euro Disney SCA needs growth if they ever intend to be profitable.

I think he has performed well.  Our best CEO was Jay Rasulo, now worldwide parks manager.  Our worst was Pierre Gerbeau, he went on to oversee the Millenium Dome.

M. Gas fits in the upper range.  I hope the next CEO has the foresight and understanding that the resort needs quality shows and merchandise for sustainability rather than new attractions.

Apparently, he's moving on to be Regional Vice President for The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific. The replacement is rumoured to be Joe Schott, who is Executive Vice President Operations.

I think he has done well given the financial crisis, militant unions and the ridiculous number of banks that have to agree before he can spend his own money! Getting the additional credit line from TWDC  was a bit of a master-stroke, and he has pushed ahead with Villages Nature, which looks very exciting. Also you have Dreams and the refurbs. On the negative side you have TSPL and no major attraction for the 20th.
