That would make sense. Ikspiari in Tokyo and the DTDs in the US are operated that way. I have never understood why that didn't happen in Paris. There is no need to have so many Disney operated stores, especially when each store offers the same. The Disney restaurants are definitely not the best and I wouldn't mind to see more outside companies.

Exactly, if Disney aren't willing to expand their offerings in the Village it'll have to be down to outside companies to do so.

It was the original plan for there to be assorted shops in the village.  I think it would work very well for all concerned.

While I find Disney Village a bit bland at the moment, am I alone in not wanting it to be full of shops that you can find in shopping malls back home? Seeing Starbucks and McDs round the corner is bad enough, but to see a whole row of shops that have nothing to do with Disney will kill the magic for me.

I'd rather have uninspiring Disney shops than a bunch of high street shops, but ideally I'd like Disney Village to be improved with Disney themed shops and restaurants. I can just about forgive Rainforest Cafe as it is nicely themed, even if the food is poor. Planet Hollywood I am less forgiving with as they pack people in like sardines and the food is again pretty poor.

If they can have great restaurants like Blue Lagoon and Walts in the park then there's no reason to need sub-standard chain restaurants or high street shops in Disney Village. I want to see the high quality Disney experience continue in Disney Village, not drop off for mediocrity.

I like Lego, but I can go shopping in Toys R Us when I get home, I'd rather not see a big shop of it on Holiday. I'm sure many will love it and I'm probably in the minority, but if this a start of more chain stores going in Disney Village then for it me it will really spoil it and detract from DLP as a holiday destination. We have a bunch of restaurants that sell mostly burgers, is a Lego store really the priority here?

Improve Disney Village not continue the mediocrity and mallification!

I agree that DV could be improved with Disney related restaurants and shops, because I also don't need the shops I can find everywhere.

However in recent years Disney really struggled to come up with something nice at DV. And in the US it seems to work to have outside companies in Downtown Disney. As long as Disneyland Paris can't come up with quality merchandise shops or nice restaurants with really good food, I don't mind to see outside companies.

I didn't realise Lego stores were becoming so common: Bluewater, Brighton, Cardiff, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, both London Westfields and The Trafford Centre (part of the Discovery Centre) in the UK. No locations in France though, so it's not all about us. This will be a good move for them and for Disney will give them a very smart, modern and popular retail store. The rent on a location in somewhere like Disney Village must be astronomical.

I only find the location strange. Hollywood Pictures is bigger than World of Toys, but putting an outside retailer there in the middle means they'll have to close the doorways between those three stores. I presume Disney Fashion will stay even after World of Disney, so that leaves World of Toys (and Disney Store) needing a replacement.

There's absolutely room for more Disney-branded stores beyond World of Disney, and to be honest I'd much prefer to see this entire block bulldozed to the ground, but Lego would be the best alternative. With all their Toy Story/Pirates/Cars/Indy/Star Wars ranges it'd practically be a Disney shop anyway.

I think Lego fits perfectly into DV with all their Disney inspired products. Hopefully we will also get some nice Lego made figures like the US resorts.

Unfortunately Disney will not bulldoze DV and rebuild it, but that would definitely the best way. It looks just ugly with these balloons.

If Disney wants to keep some stores they should transform them into speciality shops, like one dedicated to pins, another one dedicated to media products, like books and DVDs.

I would like to see DV more like DTD in Orlando. There  are shops, bars and restaurants of kinds of people. There's even a Harley Davidson shop. I really liked the adult oriented part, but that's not family friendly enough for DLRP. I would have never thought that Disney in Europe is more conservative than WDW.

DTD in Orlando still has Once Upon a Toy, a Disney owned store specialising in Toys (sprisingly). Like Dagobert said - if they've to keep these stores make them specialist stores. Last time I was in World of Toys it stocked everything and anything, like most stores around the Resort. Persoanally I'd love to see a Pin or any other store dedicated purely to one type of product.
