This morning on BBC Breakfast Tom Hanks not only confirmed that Toy Story 4 was going ahead, but that Pixar were already working on it.

Fact or wishful thinking on Tom's part ??

Would be a very odd mix up, but could he be mixing it up with the Toy Story short films?

If this is true, these videos sum up my views better than I could ;)

   I had to.

Seriously though, please no TS4.  I just pray he actually meant the TS short.

he better have meant maybe a series of shorts, another film?! but they're happy! they nearly got incinerated, and then they were safe. everything was good.

john lasseter, if this is true, and ts4 is a film, then shame on you!

I really hope this isn't true. TS 3 was a perfect ending for the trilogy. It's really time that Pixar starts creating something new. This year we have Cars 2 and next year Monsters 2. We have to wait until 2013 to see Brave.

Actually, Brave will hit theaters in June 2012 ;-)
But I have to agree with you: they shouldn't make that much sequels...

His actual words when asked about TS4:

"I think there will be yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think they're working on it now. There you go."

There's also reports now that Tim Allen has already signed on for the fourth installment.

I watched the interview with Tom Hanks yesterday on 'Lorraine'. He mentioned the same thing.
Take a look: http://www.itv.com/lorraine/celebrity/tom-hanks/
about 4:10 minutes into the interview Lorraine asks if there will be another one and he confirms it.

I really hope their isnt a fourth toy story, i don't think it is needed.
The third film ended the triology perfectly, a fourth would probably still be good but it is not needed!
I do think the toy story shorts are a good idea though, a great way to keep toy story alive, without making a fourth film. :)
I only hope that we don\'t lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a mouse[size=150] Walt Disney

I really did not like the 3rd one, so the 4th is an annoying prospect (I remember when John Lasseter did not want to do TS2 because he said he did not believe in sequels, and now we have sequels for TS, Monsters Inc and Cars.....grrrrr)
since 2001 (many before that)

At least next year we will see an original Pixar movie. Judging from the trailer, Brave looks really great and I can't wait to see it.

John Lasseter was in the UK promoting Pixar's latest movie Cars 2, when BBC hosts decided to ask him if there was any truth to Hanks' claims. Lasseter didn't seem to want to answer the question. Watch him squirm and try to dodge the question

He didn't deny it, did he ?

Do you get the feeling woody now gets shot in toy story 4?

Lasseter really isn't too good at sidestepping
