We are still talking about Disneyland Paris and so I guess it will be nothing major. I still think it will be a small carnival ride added to Toon Studios.

Alan, that's an interesting theory, but I doubt they will bring the seats from Captain EO to WDSP. The Animagique studio is just a tent structure and I'm not sure if it can support all the technologies. For the moving floor, Disney had to dig out the floor to accomodate it. I'm not sure if they would do such extensive work for such an old attraction. It is possible that Animagique will be replaced by Philharmagic, but I still think that two screen based attractions on each side of Studio 1 is very lazy in a creative way.

I didn't mean "move the moving seats" I meant "move the seats" :-) Mickey's PhilharMagic doesn't have moving seats, so the moving floor technology from Honey I Shrunk The Audience could stay in Discoveryland (unused).

Oooooooookay.

Maybe I', still on the wrong way, but why would they need other seats in the Animagique building for Philharmagic.

By the way, why do you all like Philharmagic so much. I enjoyed it at WDW, but I wasn't impressed by it. Since it would be a cheap addition, I can imagine that it will replace Animagique, but I don't hope so. I think Disney wants to increase the number of attractions. However I can live with Philharmagic in WDSP, despite prefering Animagique. DLRP doesn't have many stage shows and that's why I'm against dropping another one.

I just think they'll bring back Honey I Shrunk the Audience, again, since they haven't removed any of the props or logos for it.

I will be absolutely gutted if Animagique goes its one of my favourite attractions. It's disappointing the nothing will replace Captain EO but hopefully it won't be for too long.

Quote from: "dagobert"[Discoveryland] is just a shadow of its former glory. However Mr. Gas said in a round table discussion that WDI is already working on that. Hopefully they don't scrap the whole discovery theme in favour of more and more toon inspired rides.

This had made my night - I'd love to see it restored, so that it can can side side-by-side with Mysterious Island and Port Discovery in Tokyo. I really hope that this comes to light.

I actually hope Discoveryland isn't restored, which is weird because I'm a huge Discoveryland fan.

The thing is, over the past 20 years, Discoveryland has received a lot of new attractions and modifications. But what about Adventureland? What about Frontierland? These lands have been neglected compared to Discoveryland.

So, before they go spending even more money on Discoveryland, add something new to Frontierland first. And then Adventureland.

Quote from: "Alan"What if Disney are closing Captain EO so that they can move the seats and effects hardware over to the Animagique theatre, for Mickey's PhilharMagic?
That's an interesting theory! Though I'm still slightly worried at the fact they're closing an attraction without plans of a replacement.

I agree, its a shame to close it and leave it emply.

If they are going to expand the other lands, I hope they use their original plans for the Phase 2 expansion that never happened (but with updated tech! :D ).

Wow, I'm seeing some great possibilities here...
If they move the Captain EO hardware to the WDS for the 'new' attraction in 2014, why not move Star Tours to the WDS as well? An updated version like Star Tours II, of course. The Pizza Planet restaurant is already faded glory, so nobody will really miss that...

That leaves an amazing space for an amazing attraction, like Journey to the Centre of the Earth or something like that! That would surely give Discoveryland a lot of (well deserved) attention! It could be THE E-ticket ride for the 25th anniversary (a)

But I doubt that would ever happen, tough... :')

Maybe Pizza Planet will move into the space? Wasn't it rumoured a while ago that they would get rid of its tent structure and construct a real building for it? Well, no need for that now.

*starts completely unfounded rumour*

I'm a bit annoyed about this, I really was looking forward to actually going to see this during our next. Didn't get a chance last time :(
Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you, tomorrow,... You're always a day closer to my next Disney trip!

Rumours of a Star Wars mini-land on DCP

I think this could tidy up the mess at the back end of Discoveryland and hopefully avoid opening ST2 at a large cost to zero guest reaction. The same ride with an improvement might not get much interest, but a whole new land probably would.

Alain on Disney and More seems to know what's going to replace it. He said he's going to post about it next week.

I always believe that Disney and More know what's coming next. But in 2009 they published an article "revealing" what would probably be built between 2009 and 2013. Let's re-visit it and see how accurate it was:

• Hollywood Boulevard will be expanded (wrong)
• Tram Tour Station will move (wrong)
• Pirates of the Caribbean show scene will be added to the Studio Tram Tour (wrong)
• Toy Story Mania (wrong)
• Toy Story Playland (right)
• Ratatouille (right, but not until 2014)
• The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Undersea Adventure (wrong)
• Fantasy Festival Stage will be pulled down (wrong)
• Story Book Theatre (wrong)
• Star Tours 2 (wrong)
• Splash Mountain for the 20th (wrong)

So, whatever's going to "replace" Captain EO, great. But it probably won't happen.
