Well that doesn't come as a surprise, after all Universal seem to be trying to make an old Disney movie about a dog greyfriars Bobby  .  Sounds interesting and Tim Allen again on this Shaggy Dog is there anything Disney won't ask him to do now, suppose he's another Robin Williams, Disney can easily get away with using him and people will go and see it.  I mean he has been in many popular Disney things, Home Improvement, Toy Story and now this, who knows maybe he will show up at Paris to open Buzz lightyear laser Blast *dreams* .

I was hoping for something like that too!  Vin Diesel opened SM:M2 last year, and he had the Disney film The Pacifier being released at the same time... Tim could promote The Shaggy Dog at the same time!!  It's such an interesting coincidence that I think there's perhaps a shred of possibility in there...  :?

Back to the movie, and Dlrpfan's right - this is a kinda "remake" of the older films, but I think it's more of a "reuse", because they're only really using the basis and not the entire plot.  (A bit like Herbie Fully Loaded i guess)

The original film was released in 1959 - The Shaggy Dog (1959) and then there was the sequel in 1976 - The Shaggy D.A. (1976).

There's also a Santa Clause III in the work starring Tim Allen, and also our Cinémagique's Georges, Martin Short playing Jack Frost.

I just watched the trailer and I simply have to watch this movie!!!  :)  I like Tim Allen that much, and I think it will be much better than the older versions of "Shaggy Dog" (they are really oldfashioned and dusty, I saw them many times on TV). Besides, my old "friend" Alan Menken did the score, so there'll be also good music to listen to.  :P
