Christmas at Disneyland in Anaheim will be very different.

For the first time, an artifical Christmas tree will be at the Main Street USA Hub, this in what Disneyland executives call a cost effective (read: money saving) move.  But it will be as gaudy as the original natural trees.  This new tree debuts as part of Disneyland's Christmas events November 21st and run through January 4th, 2009.

I'm actually surprised they used to use a real tree.  Was it cut down especially?

I don't think Paris' tree is any less magical (or less expensive) for being fake, so Californian fans shouldn't worry.

They used real trees for over 50 years, preserving them annually and most recently, recycling them into mulch.
