In news concerning a sport popular in the United States, Major League Baseball and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim baseball team are in talks with Disneyland to stage the annual Major League Baseball All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade down Main Street USA at Disneyland on July 13, 2010.

The made-for-television event, a preliminary to the annual exhibition contest between teams made up of players from the National and American Leagues, showcases the players and their families on the back of Chevrolet pick-up trucks, as Chevrolet is an official sponsor of Major League Baseball.  Disneyland Resort hosted two previous All-Star gala events in Anaheim prior to the All-Star Game in 1967 and 1989, and would more than likely host the 2010 event as well.

The nearby Anaheim Convention Center is scheduled to host the All-Star Fan Fest, an amusement park/museum and Angels Stadium of Anaheim, about three miles from the theme park, will host the Futures Game, a legends/celebrity softball game on the Sunday before the contest, as well as the workout and Home Run Derby contest the night before.

BUMP!

Well it looks like Disney will use Mickey and his friends in a new way.  In the weeks prior to the event, team logos will be placed all over fiberglas statues in Orange County, California USA of the characters.

And here's the proof...

This will be one of over three dozen 7' 6" fiberglas statues of Mickey located through the Los Angeles/Anaheim region decorated with Major League baseball logos.
