Is it just me, or are there less posts nowadays on MagicForum. There's only a handful of active topics. Where have you all gone?

Alright, at least it's not just me. 

Because I'm planning our first WDW trip, I'm active at the Disboards forum too. So I thought maybe it seemed slow here because of all of the action over there. It goes so fast, it's hard to keep track of topics there.

Yeah, the forum has slowed down the last few years.
But it looks like it might be more people posting on weekdays and not in the weekends.
If we go back a couple of years, it was a lot more postings here.
I'm not even sure if Anthony or Kristof is here that much anymore.

Yeah, Disboards has a lot of activity. If it's not the biggest fan forum in the world, it is at least high up on the list.

Though I'll admit that I've been posting less now that I don't have a Disney trip on the cards until next year (DLPs 25th birthday) and then a WDW trip. This year I'll be heading elsewhere, so not much reason to be active here, though I do check in every other day or so to see if there's a topic where I could contribute.

I suspect that many people are skipping 2016 for a visit (what with all the stuff that'll be closed), which would result in a downturn in activity on these boards.

I'm here almost every day. Haven't got round to writing up my February DLP visit yet but I will. I'm also now in the final planning for my June Disneyland California visit and have posted an update about that.

I have noticed the most busy times on the forums has been September to Christmas when first timers join to plan their Christmas visits and May / June when first timers join to plan their summer visits.

I see so many first timers joining, asking questions (often the same questions over and over  ) and then once their trip is done, that's it they are gone. Very few come back after their trip and contribute to the community

I've been trying to keep the conversations going in the News & Rumours section. Admittedly I might start some trivial threads (ie. the €50 burger), but if it gets folks chatting then why not.

I just hope I don't seem like "the annoying one who keeps creating new threads"

We're not doing DLP this year so I've been a bit quiet. I will post about our cruise this year when I've something worth posting
Trivial threads aren't the annoying ones, there's plenty others that annoy me lol

Just a thought that I gave been thinking. One of the reasons that it is so quiet here, can it have something to do with the fact that it might not be so much to discuss? What are your thoughts about that?

I disagree, there are soo much to discuss BUT the main people who post here (not including the regulars) are people who come here to plan their visit. The most active threads are the ones about meal plans, hotels, transport, travel, how to book, restaurants etc etc. A new person will come here with a question, then all the regulars post with the info, the new person says thanks, then goes on their trip and does not return.

Threads about other aspects of Disney just dont get the same activity. For example, the new Disney live action films, the new Disney park in China, the Disney Cruise Ship Magic which has just arrived in Irish / UK ports, Dublin yesterday, now on its way to Liverpool and then Dover.

Threads about pin trading out side of being in DLP, pin releases, merch in Disney store other than princess dresses, collecting Disney merch in general all dont get activity.,

Threads about other Disney parks dont get activity either, unless someone is actually planning a trip. Even then there is very little activity other than people asking questions. For example an new Star Wars Land is currently being built in Disneyland California, but its rarely mentioned here.

There is sooooo much to talk about, but any threads not related to a specific trip to DLP do not get activity and are dead

There does seem to be a lot less activity, DisneyRon may be correct. From the chats here a lot of people are missing 2016 due to the closures and waiting for next year, this may lower usage. Will be interesting to see if the activity increases nearer the 25th anniversary .
