I added Aladdin: Special Edition to my collection a few weeks ago.  It's a really really good CD, and I love the Ashman/Menken song "proud of your boy" so much!  I'm glad it wasn't in the film though...  :)

I've just added the Mulan and The Incredibles soundtracks to my collection after my birthday, and I can't get enough of them both.  Mulan is just simply wonderful, one of my favourite Disney soundtracks for both the songs and score.  The Incredibles is just incredibly cool and surprisingly great to listen to for an action movie soundtrack.  :D

Quote from: "Baloo"Mulan is just simply wonderful, one of my favourite Disney soundtracks for both the songs and score.

That's no surprise. It was written by the late Jerry Goldsmith, who is - in my book - one of the finest composers of the 20th century... and you just hear that "Mulan"'s score was written by someone who is / was very used to taking broad symphonic music and make it emotional... (just listening to Goldsmith's wonderful score for the scene in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", in which we see the Enterprise for the first time, brings a tear to my eye...)

It truly is amazing - i've listened to the CD on repeat every night since I got it - seriously!  Mulan is by far one of my favourite Disney movies now, and to think about a month ago I didn't think much of it!  God bless DVD.

I'm not a fan of Star Trek, but I do have a track from this soundtrack (since I believe it's used in Frontlot) and it's one of my favourite tracks in my "Frontlot" playlist.  I'm not sure why exactly... it's just wonderful, dramatic, emotional music, even if you've never seen more than a few seconds of Star Trek!  :D

ahh... the good old Star Trek main title. Wonderful piece.  8)

All in all, Goldsmith's work on Trek was remarkable, especially for the first movie (though the score for "First Contact" was brilliant as well). I suggest "Ilia's Theme" - which is just one amazing piece of music.

And then one shouldn't forget his great "Klingon Theme" ...

And of course all of the other amazing movie scores that Goldsmith was responsible for!

I have noticed a Disney CD here in England called Ultimate Disney that has Dancin' A Catchy Rhythm on it.  I am very surprised that it made a compliation Cd cos they usually just include the normal Disney Classics songs, and this 1 also includes IASW music from DLRP.  I just find that Disney would include DLRP music on a CD surprising.  It is however good publicity in my mind. :D
The CD is here: Amazon.co.uk

Disney has put theme park music from its US parks on Disney song collection CDs for years (I've got one with the music of Pirates, small world and the Tiki Room).

It's good to know that they are now acknowleding DLP's contribution to Disney Music.

You didn't have Dancin' (A Catchy Rhythm) before?  How on earth did you live?

I am very tempted to buy the CD, but since im collecting individual disney movie soundtracks there isn't much point in me getting it now...  :(
