I think we're on the money here. Disney sure has tried and tested this technology so Paris culminating all the advances and techniques into one show sounds ideal. An obvious progression?

the fact they even paid to bring one of these in for testing is surely a good sign. the future is looking good

But we shouldn't rule out the possibility that it could just be a pretty fountain as part of the refurbishment. XD

I don't think it is, though, because I don't think they would have so many together in such a configuration. It does look like the sort of fountains at WoC.

There was a comment on DLRP Today trying to dampen (get it?) excitement already by saying such a small base won't provide many fountains, etc. Obviously we're not going to see the whole World of Color suddenly shooting up in the castle moat... But anyway you don't really need a large number of fountains to give an impressive effect. World of Color only needs so many because they're the whole show.

Did anyone happen to see Kylie Minogue's recent tour? The finale uses actual World of Color fountains embedded in the stage. There are only about 12, but the effect is spectacular. Skip to about 2min 30:

(Not my video, although it was the show I saw - I was nearer the front screaming)

I've wished for some kind of show using fountains in the moat since even before World of Color. I can't believe that it might actually be happening... wow!

I'm really excited about the prospect of fountains being incorporated into a new show, and I agree with Anthony, I too saw the Kylie show (AMAZING!) and even a relatively modest amount of fountains can be just as effective as hundreds.

Fountains (especially if lit up at night) make a perfect firework equivalent, especially at DLRP, where it's the noise disrupting locals that causes so little fireworks to be used.

Just think - although this is mabye wishful thinking - could we see a Tinker Bell-esque trail arch over the castle in glittering water form rather than sparkling firework?

The sound issue sure must be a deciding factor. And the cheapness of it too. Projections also, it's just the initial set up cost that's expensive. I wouldn't rule out other effects too just yet. Likely they'll combine a lot of pyro and other lively effects to give a more rounded production. There's a lot of space in CP for them to push the boat out.

Love the video Anthony. What a show that was :0

We've got some more pictures from DLRPTeam.

Looks like some tarp surrounding one of the speakers/lighting posts down the west side of the Central Plaza.

Quote from: "Kristof"Tokyo Disneyland had the Cool the Heat show that featured huge fountains and water cannons launching in front and from their Castle.

See the craziness:

This may be an interesting option for a daytime version of the show (or use of the show's pipes) since there is still a real lack of water rides during the summer at DLP.

It looks fantastic and hopefully they will put the Disney magic on the fountains and possible be dancing fountains, or a light display fountain show!?

check this fountain show we had at our hotel in Europa Park last month. The audio is low in this person's video, but it gives you an idea of what a few fountains can do. Imagine if they did something with this at the castle? Now if we can get Steve Davison tied in, then I would get excited. He is the reason all the other resorts have such amazing nightime shows and I do not think he has ever done anything for DLP. From about 50 seconds in.

So now we've been officially told that Fantillusion won't return next year, what are the rumours about a new show? What are peoples general ideas/feelings about it? Its got to amazing as its the 20th year etc and I know they've been testing the fountains by the castle so do you think that will have something to do with it?

I personally love Fantasmic and would like to see if that could be adapted for DLRP a bit maybe...??

This has probably been discussed to death in other topics so I apologise in advance.
