Hi, We are visiting the park at the end of May and want to dine in Cafe Mickey.  However we were wondering what time is best to make reservation for to ensure we see the characters. Are there specific times the characters are there?

Hi,

There is some information about Character Meals at http://www.dlpguide.com/planning/dining/character-dining/.

I know the dates aren't right for your trip but it gives you a good idea on the times.
DLP: 1992 Summer (Cheyenne).
2012: May (Santa Fe).
2013: Nov (Kyriad).
2014: Jan (Cheyenne), & Halloween (Kyriad).
2015: Jan - Birthday Trip (Disneyland Hotel) & Sept (Sequoia Lodge - Golden Forest).
2016: April (Sequoia Lodge - Golden Forest).
2017: Jan (Santa Fe - 1 night birthday trip), March (Hotel New York - Empire State Club), June (Cheyenne - 1 night trip) & Sept (Santa Fe).
Upcoming:
Sept 2018 (Newport Bay Club - Compass Club).

The characters are pretty much always out during the evening sitting. Never been at lunch. I arrived at 8pm left at 11pm and characters were always around. Most we got to meet twice.

There is no "best" time; characters are always in attendance at Café Mickey.
