Wanted to see Ariel as a mermaid?  You had until August 17th at Disneyland Anaheim to do so.  You'll have to see her in "Parade of Dreams" or "Fantasmic!" as a mermaid or wait until her new grotto opens next to her self-titled "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" dark ride at DCA.

Ariel's Grotto was closed in California after August 17th in order for work to begin converting it into Pixie Hollow where Tinker Bell and her friends will hang out for meet-and-greets (And yes, Tink will speak!)  Pixie Hollow will open on October 28th, just in time for (tie-in alert) the Tinker Bell DVD release!

As for Ariel?  She'll become a human, and participate in the Princess Fantasy Faire activities in the Fantasyland Theatre.

Pixie Hollow turned out to be incredibly beautiful, even more so after Summer Nightastic when a special Enchantment show was added, three different shows featuring lights and water. The area looks amazing it night, even the trees all sparkle with tiny laser effects.
