Hellooo

Me and my chap would really like to visit Paris during our trip for the day and I'm wondering what's the cheapest and/or quickest way to get there? I've looked at the RER and it's apparently 1 hour and 20 minutes?! I remember getting a train when I was younger and it was a lot less time than that?

Thanks!

EDIT:

I just checked RATP.FR, the website for the French rail in the area around Paris, and they're doing a lot of work on Line A, which is one of the major connecting Metro lines in Paris, with it out of commission you're spending a fair bit of time waiting for the next train down the line.
It takes about 36 minutes to travel from DLP to Place de la Nation, but to get anywhere from there you're usually waiting 15 minutes for your next connection, this means it takes a fair bit longer to get where you're going in Paris from DLP.

The good news here is that the construction work is scheduled to be done on the 27th of August, so if you're not going this week, it should be back to normal by then.
